Block 2, Week 3

From the Headteacher

Wake Up, Shake Up: It has been good to see so many parents joining in our daily exercises this week. The last one of this round will be held tomorrow and a further week of exercises will be scheduled for Term Three.

Sporting Champions: We have had some nominations from parents of children who could be awarded Sports Champion for Term Two. It is interesting to hear of the commitment of our pupils in out of school clubs. We shall be making a decision and awarding the cup next week.

Long Jump Finals: Our finalists took part in the second set of long jump finals last Friday. Our school record, held by Angelika in Year Six, remains unbroken but we have a new leader board, set out below:

Dance Festival: Our dance club has been rehearsing for the annual West Wilts Dance Festival so the news that we have not got a place this year has been very disappointing. I have made my views known to the organiser but, unless another school drops out, they say they have no place for Holbrook this year. Please do not buy tickets for the event if your child is part of Dance Club. We are actively seeking another public forum for our dancers so dance club will continue and we will let you know what we have arranged. Our dancers will also be performing at our annual school festival at the civic centre in 2018.

Christmas: The festive season gets well and truly underway from tomorrow when we hold the Christmas Dinner as well as the PTA Christmas Fayre. Next week, we have the performances of our younger children in a play that promises to warm the heart. I hope to see you at one or more event before the end of term.

Carols on the Playground: We hope to end the term by gathering on the playground and singing carols and Christmas songs. Parents and friends are welcome to join us from 2.15pm on the last day of term to sing along. Please note that this event is entirely dependent on dry weather so may have to be cancelled at short notice- we can cope with cold but not rain!
