JESUS IS THE ANSWER
Bible Reading:
(i) For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
(ii) But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Mathew 6:33)
What men need
The powerful presence of Jesus-Christ is God’s answer to all our problems. Many people think that they would be happier if they had more money. They think that if they were better qualified, they could get a better job and more money to buy a bigger house, a big car etc. There are many people who already have all these things and are very unhappy. They have a lot of personal and family problems. The real issue is that they are unhappy because there is an emptiness in their soul that nothing and nobody can fill. Men and women are trying in vain to fill this emptiness with all sorts of worldly pleasure and instead of getting better they indulge more and more in sin. Only the presence of Jesus, the son of God, can fill your heart with real peace and joy. Only Jesus can cleanse your soul by his blood. Only the Holy-Spirit of God can change you into a new creature. Only Jesus can deliver you from the satanic power of the Devil.
Who is Jesus?
The greatest power in the universe is the power which created the universe. This power is found in Jesus. The Bible says that “In Christ all the fullness of the deity lives in bodily form and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority”. (Colossians 2:9-10)
Jesus-Christ, the son of God, is “the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.” (Hebrew 1:3)
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn (heir) over all creation. For Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. (Colossians 1:15-20)
The Evangel of Redemption
Man’s real problem is sin and rebellion against God. And his real need is forgiveness and peace with God. Jesus-Christ, the eternal word (John 1), became a human being to give his life to save mankind. He died on the cross and shed his blood to redeem us. Through his blood, shed on the cross, we get forgiveness of our sins, reconciliation and peace with God.
While it is quite true that anybody who comes to Christ will have his needs met and will experiment a “Lift up” of his social status, the gospel is first of all a gospel of redemption before being a gospel of “lift”.
“Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteous, and all these things will be given to you as well,” Said Jesus
Conclusion
Do not focus on your needs first. Keep yours eyes on Jesus. Open your heart to Jesus. Surrender your whole being to the Lordship of Jesus. Ask him to forgive your sins and to cleanse your heart and soul with his precious blood. He will take care of all your needs and will heal your body. What you need first of all is Jesus-Christ Himself. All these things will be given to you as well. Jesus has come to break the yoke of the devil and set you free. He has come to destroy the devil’s works. (1John 3:8). In Luke 4:18-19 Jesus says: “The spirit of the lord is on me because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for prisoners and recovery of sight for blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.” What is your problem? Are you an alcoholic, a drug addict? Are you suffering from a broken home? Are you oppressed, depressed, desperate? Jesus is God’s answer. Just ask him to come into your heart and life. Surrender to the Lordship of Jesus.
Do it right now. Talk to him and give him your heart and life.
God bless you
