Purpose of the Research
The applicant shall indicate the general nature of the research and the specific purpose of the research with the existing academic literature referred to where necessary. In particular, details shall be given clearly with a focus on the following points.
1) Scientific background for the research
2) What will be elucidated and to what extent will it be pursued during the research period
3) Scientific characteristics, originality and expected results and significance of the research in the area

Research Plan and Method
The applicant should provide details of the research plan and the methods for achieving the objectives of the research in a clear and specific manner.The literature should be referred to as needed and main points focused on. Where the research plan is being implemented by a group, indicate the specific roles of the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator of the research team (using figures, tables and other visual aids).

Note1: Labor payment to those included in the research proposal must be excluded.

Note2: Management cost at the institute must be excluded (e.g. overhead).

Note3: Durable equipment must be excluded.

Note4: Cost of water, electricity and telephone must be excluded.

Note5: All the items must be written clearly and concretely. Otherwise, the items might be excluded.

Note6: Cost must be written in either USD or your country’s currency but must not mix USD and the currency.

Note7: The price of one item should not exceed 100,000 JPY (approximately 870 USD).

Note8: Labor payments for questionnaire, laboratory work, sampling, part-time work are NOT acceptable.All works relating this proposalresearch should be done applicant and co-investigator(s).
