2018Grampian Rally - Industrial Schedule

Ladies Convenors: It is important that all Ladies Convenors explain the rules to the younger members. In all cases, an envelope containing the competitors name and club must be firmly attached to the entry or the Committee will disqualify it. The entries will be received from 8am to 9.15am and judging will commence at 9.30am. No entry will be removed before 4pm but ALL must be removed by 4.30pm. All articles must be the exhibitor's own work and have been completed in the twelve months before the Rally. The committee will NOT dispose of any food items; these must be removed by competitors.

The consumption of any food entered in the competition is done so at the persons own risk and the committee cannot be held responsible.

Baking

  1. Tomato Relish – jar, any size
  2. 1x Individual Apple Pie – any pastry
  3. 4x Scotch Pancake
  4. 2x Parkin Biscuits (recipe attached)
  5. 1x Slice of Carrot Cake
  6. Small Flask of Lentil Soup
  7. 2x Bread Roll – any variety
  8. 1 Glass of Ice Tea

Rules - In this section a maximum of TWOentries per Club per class will be permitted, with only one entry per class from each competitor. Entries must be displayed on suitable disposable dishes/plates with all labels firmly attached. All entries should be displayed by 9.15am.

Judging - Judging will commence at 9.30am prompt. The judges will be asked to place the first six in each class. Points will be awarded 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 in each class, when competitors will be marked as individuals.

Handicrafts

  1. A beaded Keyring
  2. Item incorporating an egg carton
  3. Christmas Tree Decoration
  4. 2x Finger Puppet (sewn)
  5. Painted Slate – (max size A4(21×29cm))
  6. Crochet Octopus – Pattern Attached (To be donated to Aberdeen Premature Baby Unit)

Club Entry – Handicraft theme: “Lights, Camera, Action”

Rules - This is a club contest and only one entry per club will be accepted. Items will be judged individually although each group constitutes an entry. Accessories and drapes will be allowed and marks awarded for appearance and display. Associate members are eligible to help set up entries.

Time - All items should be delivered to the marquee by 9.15am and judging will be at 9.30am. Two members will report at 10.30 am to set up the entry ready for the appearance and display to be judged. Set up time will be 30 minutes (10.45am to 11:15am).

Space – 3 wide x 2 ½ deep x 2 ½ high (all measurements in feet) – please note that no support will be provided, clubs to provide their own backing boards.

Club Entry – Baking theme: “Garden Party”

  1. Pink Lemonade
  2. 4x Canapés – 2x variates, 2 of each
  3. 4x petit fours – 2x varieties
  4. 2x Iced Biscuits

Rules -This is a club contest and only one entry per club will be accepted. Items will be judged individually although each group constitutes an entry. Accessories and drapes will be allowed and marks will be awarded for appearance and display. Associate members are eligible to help set up the entry.

Time -All articles to be delivered to the venue and displayed by by 9.15am. Judging of appearance and display will commence at 9.30am and then the judging of individual items will follow. One member will report at 11.30am to check display prior to opening to public.

Space - 3 wide x 2 ½ deep x 2 ½ high (all measurements in feet) – please note that no support will be provided, clubs to provide their own backing boards.

Junior Section – Theme: “80 years of SAYFC”

Rules -This is a club contest for JUNIOR members only.

This is a club contest and only one entry per club will be accepted. Items will be judged individually although each group constitutes an entry. Accessories and drapes will be allowed and marks awarded for appearance and display. Associate members are eligible to help set up entries.

Time - All items should be delivered to the marquee by 9.15am and judging will be at 9.30am. Two members will report at 10.30 am to set up the entry ready for the appearance and display to be judged. Set up time will be 30 minutes (10.45am to 11:15am).

Space – 3 wide x 2 ½ deep x 2 ½ high (all measurements in feet) – please note that no support will be provided, clubs to provide their own backing boards.

Practical Competition – _Item: Identifying cuts of meat(Junior, Senior and Associate Sections)

Rules - All items will be supplied. Competitors are to correctly identify cuts of meat.

Entry -Two competitors per club

Time-10:00am to 10.30am. Report to Steward at9.45 a.m.

Points for Club Trophy - 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Floral Art – Item: Arrangement depicting a nursery rhyme – fresh material

Sections:a. Novice (for full members who have not gained a 1st - 6th prize at a Rally)

b. Intermediate (for full members who have been awarded a 1st - 6th prize at a Rally)

c. Associate (for member's aged 28 or over)

Entry –Maximum two competitors per section per Club

Rules - Individual competitors shall compete. Preparation to be done in front of steward.

The maximum size must be within 18” square using fresh plant material only; no backing boards will be provided.

Time –11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Report to steward at 11:30 a.m.
