QUALIFICATIONS:

1. AvalidNorthCarolinalicenseasaSchoolPsychologist,LevelII.

PERFORMANCERESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Providesassistance,asneeded,tostudentassistanceteamsindevelopingacademicandbehavioralinterventionsforreferredstudents.

2.ParticipatesasamemberofIEPteamstoreviewreferralsforstudentssuspectedofhavingadisabilitytodeterminetheneedforevaluation.

3.Conductsassessmentsappropriatetothefocusofconcernandaccordingtoprofessionalstandards.

4.IntegratesdatafromassessmentproceduresanddevelopsrecommendationsforIEPteamsrelativetobothinstructionalandeducationalprogrammingandprogrameligibilityandplacement.

5.Interpretsresultsofpsychologicalandeducationalassessmentaccuratelyandclearlyinwrittenreports

andconferences.

6.Assistsinidentifyingenvironmentalfactors,assessingtheirimpactanddevelopingeffectivedirectandindirectbehavioralandeducationalinterventionstoaddressstudentneeds.

7.Providesconsultationtoteachers,otherschoolstaff,andparentsaboutstrategiestofacilitatelearning

andadjustmentforindividualsorgroupsofstudents.

8.Plansandimplementsin-servicetrainingprogramsforschoolstaffand/orparentsbaseduponassessmentofneedsoftheschoolorsystem.

9.Assistsschoolsandsystemadministrationindevelopingandupdatingcrisisintervention,schoolimprovement,andotherprogramplans.

10.Maintainsrecordsofservicesprovidedtostudents.

11.Assistsinmonitoringaccountabilityprocedurestoinsurecomplianceofspecialeducationrecords.

12.Attendsstaffmeetingsforpsychologicalservices.

13.Maintainseffectivecommunicationbothorallyandinwriting.

14.Maintainscollaborativerelationshipswithschoolpersonnel,communityagencyrepresentatives,andparents.

15.Engagesincontinuingprofessionaldevelopmentbyparticipatinginappropriatetrainingconferences

andindividualstaffdevelopmentactivities.

16.Observesfederal,state,andlocalpoliciesandregulationsinthedeliveryofschoolpsychologicalservices.

17.DeliversservicesconsistentwiththeNationalAssociationofSchoolPsychologistandtheAmerican

PsychologicalAssociationethicalprinciplesandprofessionalstandardsofpractice.

TERMOFEMPLOYMENT: 11Months (August 1 through June 30); opportunities for extended employment in

the month of July may exist when needs dictate additional services and when

budgets can support such an extension.

EVALUATION:PerformancewillbeevaluatedinaccordancewithprovisionsoftheBoard’spolicyon

evaluationofprofessional/licensed personnel.
