Purpose Statement of Crossroads Community Church

Crossroads Community Church seeks to transform lives through loving relationships with God, each other, and the lost.

Position Summary

This position serves as the leader of the youth worship team for the middle and high school ministries.

General Qualifications

1.  Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced by the demonstration of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
2.  Wholeheartedly agrees with the Crossroads Community Church purpose, values, priorities, mission, bylaws, and lives a lifestyle appropriate to a person in Christian ministry.
3.  Willing to be a part of Crossroads Community Church and to regularly and consistently attend a weekend worship service.
4.  Manages personal and family life in such a way they model the teachings of God’s Word.
5.  Demonstrates skills in relating to and working with people, especially youth, parents, volunteers, church staff, the congregation and others, within a team environment.
6.  Able stand and speak/sing clearly for extended time periods; maintain a high level of energy and a positive disposition; and, work in teams achieving short and long range goals.
7.  Serve as a productive and positive team player with the staff.
8.  Agrees to abide by the staff handbook and sign the Crossroads Statement of Faith.
9.  Must pass the pre-employment test (if applicable), including passing the Crossroads background screening. /

Position Qualifications/Specifications

Minimum/Preferred Experience: At least two years of worship ministry experience.

Minimum/Preferred Education: Two years of music education or equivalent experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies:

Ø  Above average ability to relate to high school students, their parents and adult volunteers,

Ø  Proven effectiveness in leading worship for middle and high school students,

Ø  Skilled in leading, teaching and appreciating volunteers musicians and vocalists,

Ø  Skilled in leadership, evangelism, knowledge of Scripture, developing leaders, and a heart to see students grow in their relationship with God,

Employment Status: Part time

Employment Classification: Non-Exempt, hourly

Hours: Approximately 12-14 hours a week

Sundays 8 am – 12:30 pm; 5:30 to 9:00 pm

Wednesdays 5:30 – 9:00 pm

Other days and hours as directed.

Specific Responsibilities, Principle Duties and Responsibilities

1.  Responsible to lead for all worship activities on a weekly basis for Garage Student Ministries.

2.  Recruit, motivate and train volunteers (students and adults) to be a team assisting in worship and tech support.

3.  Engage students and leaders in weekly worship sets and communicate with volunteers as needed.

4.  Communicate with the youth pastor(s) about worship plans and activities from week to week.

5.  Assure that Propresenter, Planning Center and sound and light technology are prepared for Garage events.

6.  Assist with consistently encouraging and discipling students to know that they matter to God.

7.  Serve as a role model for students growing in their faith.

8.  Other tasks as assigned.
