■ Description
RCD3004 is a RC controlled glow plug driver that is designed specifically for two-cylinder engines, customer can control the glow plug on-off through the switch channel on the transmitter, particularly good for restarts of a cylinder on a two-cylinder engine when it has a flame out; it is powered separately.
It has overtime and low voltage protection, it will enter off mode when the continuous working time is more than 5 minutes and working voltage is less than 3V, so as to avoid over discharging the battery to ensure a safe flight. It also has short circuit and overheat protection, the system will enter protection mode when a short is detected or it overheats, it will return to normal working state when the short connection is sorted and the temperature reduces.
The device can adjust output current automatically according to the operation state of the glow plug to ensure the best working temperature even when the glowplug and the cylinder is flooded.
The device is driven directly through a low frequency pulse width, in this case obtains high efficiency and no signal interference, its actual working state depends on the internal resistance of the battery, the high internal resistance of the circuit or the battery can lead to a failure and the glowplug will not get sufficiently hot.
Usage
The device has two working modes: (1) Start Mode, the device outputs its max power and the glowplug is driven to its red hot state so that the engine can start easily.(2) Stabilizing Mode, the device outputs half power and the glowplug attains a near red hot state, increasing and stabilizing the speed especially when slow running is achieved by combining the force from the engine, this saves power.
The device is shut off when the control signal pulse width is less than 1.4ms; when the pulse width is between 1.4ms and 1.6ms, it is on stabilizing mode; when the pulse width is more than 1.6ms, the device is on start mode. Normally we use one 2 way switch or one 3 way switch on the transmitter to control the device. Once the device enters Start Mode this will last for 30 seconds, after this it enters Stabilizing Mode automatically which it will stay in for 5 minutes, then it will shut down. It can be triggered again and return to the same sequence once more.in this case. The reason for this is you don’t need to worry that you forget to put the switch in the off position and flatten the receiver battery.
■LED light description：
(1) Red LED off：no power supply, please check the connection
(2) Red LED flashes slowly（0.25 second on, 2 seconds off）：Power supply is ok, receiver control signal is ok, the device is on Off Mode.
(3) Red LED flashes quickly(0.5 second on，0.5 second off）：No control signal or the voltage is abnormal.
(4) Red LED and blue LED lights is on constantly, the device is working in Start Mode, at this time, the buzzer would be on sounding if it were connected with a buzzer.
(5) Red LED is on constantly, blue LED light flashes, the device is working in Stabilizing Mode, at this time, you could hear intermittent sounds from if the buzzer is connected.
(6) Red LED is on constantly and the blue LED light is off, it indicates the glow plug is damaged, burnt out or you have a bad connection.
If the S1 is short circuited the 5 minutes of working time limitation is cancelled under the Stabilizing Mode.
