We’re Celebrating the 300th Birthday of Nacogdoches Did you know that 300 years ago in July 1716, a Spanish mission was erected on a sandy bank overlooking Banita Creek? Some call this year our 300th birthday, others merely our anniversary. Either way I call it an excuse to celebrate! If you would like to find out how you can help Nacogdoches (specifically NHS) celebrate these 300 years.
A young staff writer at the Daily Sentinel recently wrote, “A sense of place is critical to a happy existence.” This 24-year-old man grew up in Houston but chose to live in Nacogdoches. He loves it here! And he believes the more he learns about our amazingly historic town, the more complete his life here will be. It’s all about context, ladies and gentlemen. How often do YOU rely on context clues in a text to help you understand a word’s meaning? Would you like to understand the meaning of YOUR LIFE? Maybe some context clues will help. Find out the prequel to your life- all that has come before it to make you, YOU. Join Junior Historians, Tuesday Mega Lunch, room 104.
