Lyn welcomed all to the meeting.
3 / Formal business
Minutes of the previous meeting (7-8 May) were endorsed. Matters arising were included in discussion of agenda items below.
4 / Draft qualifications
Discussion leading to endorsement of the draft for consultation included:
·  Clarification of the role of the Governance Group and its relationship with working groups
·  Tabling and discussion of a memorandum from TEC setting out its position in relation to Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education (ALNE) qualifications, including -
o  Lyn to respond formally on behalf of the Governance Group
o  Bronwyn, Joycelyn, and Wayne to draft a long-term plan for ALNE qualifications in the future, including a focus on the relationship between generic Adult and Tertiary Teaching (ATT) and ALNE qualifications
o  Bronwyn and Annie to settle on a final fdraft of the ALNE qualifications for consultation
·  Noting the withdrawal of the proposed diploma (level 6) for Specific Learning Disability
·  Noting the proposed joint role as qualification developer for the Career Guidance diploma (Skills Organisation and Nelson-Marlborough Institute of Technology), and agreement not to include this qualification in the consultation
·  Suggested changes to the draft qualifications
·  Request for Annie and Michel to liaise with working groups as appropriate prior to publishing the qualifications for consultation
The qualifications as amended were endorsed for consultation.
5 / Draft consultation document
Discussion leading to endorsement of the consultation document included:
·  Suggested changes, including to the landscape diagrams
·  Noting some further work required, including about the Education Specialisation and Support (ESS) qualifications
The document as amended was endorsed for consultation.
6 / Permanent agenda items:
There was a brief discussion of the ongoing qualification developer role for the Teacher Education qualifications.
7 / General business
None.
8 / Future scheduled meetings
The Governance Group will meet again on 23 July to consider the consultation feedback and endorse qualifications for submission (by 28 July) for approval to develop.
