Sherl Camera welcomed Associate Members present to the meeting and declared the proceedings in session. Sherl introduced Frank Quinn, who had taken up the role of Leasing General Manager.

2. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES
The minutes of the previous quarterly meeting of the members of the Full Maintenance Leasing Section, held on 6 April 2006 (copies of which having been previously circulated), were accepted and signed by the Chairman as a true reflection of the proceedings.
2. SAVRALA CURRENT PROJECTS AND PRIORITIES
Val van der Bergh welcomed members to the meeting and requested that Lance Smith give a brief feedback on the rental statistics.
Lance Smith reported that the industry was currently very buoyant and had shown good growth, but that the cost of accidents and damage to vehicles was having a significant effect on the cost of the industry.
· National Offroad Workgroup
Members were advised that there was now a website as well as literature to help and enable persons to drive a 4x4. Members were further informed that R500 000 had been given to NOW by Government for. The first paper was to be ready at the end of August and registrations ready by August 2007.
· MOTY
Val asked Margie Gawith from Qwantani to give brief feedback in regard to the MOTY Function. Margie advised members that more than 400 people would be in attendance on the night of the function and thanked all the sponsors who had indicated their willingness to sponsor the event. She also advised members that various VIP’s would be present and that two wonderful prizes, one from Leasing and one from Rental, would be given out during the course of the evening. She advised manufacturers that the possibility existed of putting up a small display in the Foyer of the function venue, and that those interested should contact her directly. Members were also advised of the possibility that the winner would be advertised in a full page advert in a publication such as the Financial Mail, or similar publication. She also requested that manufacturers add her to their mailing list in order to keep abreast of issues taking place in the industry.

Val gave members feedback as to the status of this matter and informed members that as a result of a meeting held on 19 July, which had been attended by representatives of all the players involved in this matter, a workgroup had been put together to address the matter in the long-term. / For Info

· MOTY Template
Ross Richards enquired of the manufacturers if they were aware of any issues relating to the template which was resulting in them not using the template for submission purposes, and they were requested to contact Hassem Bhamjee directly in respect of any issues. / ALL

Sarel Visagie gave members a brief background to the status of the education initiative, the main points thereof being that ABSA was starting with a new learnership in October and that the development of the diploma had now received provisional accreditation and that the first registrations in respect of the diploma were expected in October. Sarel Visagie also advised members that the possibility had arisen for the creation of a non-profit organization for Fleet Administration and that he would be looking to SAVRALA for their endorsement of the educational content. / For Info

The issue of tri-angles being a requirement in terms of all new vehicle sales was raised and manufacturers present indicated that they believed that in terms of new legislation that this was in deed the case. / For Info
Sherl Camera thanked members for their participation and invited everybody for drinks and snacks so as to have the opportunity to network with their colleagues.
There being no further business to discuss, the meeting terminated with a vote of thanks to the Chair.
