Discussion for meeting minutes: Mayor Ken Williams would like to add to the motion regarding the Depot Museum Lease. That functions end no later than

9:30 PM, and that all other city codes for alcohol consumption apply.

Commissioner Jim Barnes moved to approve the August 23, 2016 minutes with the additional wording Mayor Williams suggested, Seconded by Commissioner Thomas E. Izer.

Commissioner Terry Schuster moved to approve the Annual Audit for fiscal year May 1, 2015 to April 30, 2016, Seconded by Commissioner Thomas E. Izer.

Discussion: The City received the highest standard rating from our Auditing firm WIFPLI.

Roll Call: Barnes, Izer, Schuster, Wilson, Williams. No Nays.

Commissioner Terry Schuster has a recommendation from the Economic Development Committee to support employment of a part-time Economic Development staff person to assist with marketing and business recruitment. He and Mayor Ken Williams interviewed Samantha Anderson for the position and she has excepted.

Discussion: Commissioner Jim Barnes asked if the job was advertised, what experience does she have, and how much will she be making. Commissioner Terry Schuster said she would be working about twelve hours a week at sixteen dollars an hour, and since Samantha was present she gave a brief description of her past experience.

Ordinance No. 2016-109 was revised and brought back to the Council. Commissioner Kurt Wilson moved to approve Ordinance No. 2016-109 Parking in Residential Yards, Seconded by Commissioner Thomas E. Izer

Discussion: Commissioner Jim Barnes feels that this is too nitpicky too much Government. He feels the city has other issues to address. He drove around town and came up with two pages of issues that need addressed. Chief DeHaan said let him know if you have any issues in the future and his department will look into the matter.

Commissioner Thomas E. Izer moved to approve Resolution No. 2016-5 Autumn on Parade Street Closure, Seconded by Commissioner Kurt Wilson.

Commissioner Jim Barnes reminded everyone of the BBQ at Rock River Center September 17th. He also announced that our Wastewater Facility has been nominated for an award for “Best Operated Wastewater Treatment Works”. This is quite an honor since only five were nominated over one hundred and forty Group two facilities considered statewide.

Commissioner Thomas E. Izer announced that Tenth Street should be open this week. He is disappointed that the newspaper didn’t run more articles on the project.

Mayor Ken Williams announced that a Job Fair will be at the Coliseum September 22, 2016 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Thirty-five employers have signed up to attend.
