GENERAL MEETING 04 AUGUST 2016

  1. Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting.

  1. APPROVAL MINUTES OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 12th May 2016

Proposed seconded agreed.

  1. MATTERS ARISING FROM MEETING 12th May 2016.
  2. TOILET: Sec described various options and they would be put to the committee at the next meeting. No consensus about whether to install.
  1. SECRETARY’S REPORT:
  2. LEASE RENEWAL: no news about lease renewal.
  3. WATER USE: Although we have a new water system member are urged to take it easy when watering. A lot of watering is unnecessary - the NAS website has an information sheet on watering which will be posted on the notice board and our facebook/web site.
  4. WATER BUTTS: Members were encouraged to save water and obtain/use water butts.
  5. Reported theft of gooseberries: chairman has reported loss to police but some mebers thought birds may well be to blame.
  6. PLOTS SECRETARY REPORT:
  7. 26 persons on the waiting list.
  8. Plot 26 has given up the plot.
  9. Dodie had received complaint about children cycling around the site. Consensus was that children should not be discouraged from visiting the site but need to be supervised by their parents.

ACTION SEC: check if any insurance issues.

  1. SHED ALARMS:Dodie has one shed alarms available for members - - Graham Stacy said he would like one.
  1. TREASURER:
  2. REPORT FOR THE YEAR TO 30th June –tabled – no comments.
  3. Shop sales comparable with last year’s sales.
  4. Bank balance is in the black but only just so the treasurer has temporarily, (until shop and open day profits improve the balance), deposited some cash in the account to ensure we do not go overdrawn.

  3. Members were asked for contributions for raffle and tombola which should be left in the shop on Sat or Sun or given to committee members.
  4. On the day vegetables, Cakes and savouries would be appreciated.
  5. Volunteers requested for the day to set up and staff stalls and erect gazibos.
  6. Kenny Hardcasle who could not attend this evening asked for his thanks to those members who had helped him with his during his hospitalisations to be mentioned.
