9/28/09 Meeting Minutes

President Hunter Horton welcomed everyone and Chelsea Hammill took attendance at 7:10 pm. after a short icebreaker!

Fall Litter Sweep, Chair: Kayli Rideout was very successful! Members walked along Branchview and picked up trash, beautifying the community. 10K United Way Run for Life, October 10, Chair: Rachel Coats. This is our next event, and we will be handing out water and directing the run. Those who signed up to participate were: Brianna Smith (and parent), Graham Lombardi, Chekaira Holit (and parent), Alex Blackman, Becca Iglehart, Hunter Horton. Ryan and Andrew Alvarado, Madison Walker, Harmony Houston, Tristian Markland, Walker Swink and Chad Heiser.These people should be there by 7:30 am and expect to stay until about 11 am.

Members are reminded that if they are no-shows to the event they sign up for, then they are deducted the points for that project. Also, it is imperative for members to wear Youth Council shirts to the events! You do not have to wear them to the meetings, but a possible point deduction could be in order for those who do not wear them to Youth Council sponsored projects.

Dog Food Drive, Chair: Kathryn Brown. Bring dry, 5 lb. bags of dog food to our next meeting! 5 lbs. = 5 Points!

Penny Wars This meeting the girls took in $20.45 for a total of $23.23; the guys took in $7.26 for a total of $8.76. This will be continued at the next meeting, so bring your loose change! It’s to sponsor a child for Shop with a Cop and we need to collect $250.

Next meeting will be October 12, 7:00pm at the ConcordAirport, in one of the hangers. Look for an e-mail informing you of the directions and exact location.
