Troop 71 Senior Patrol Meeting
October 1, 2015

In attendance was Brandon p. (SPL), Alex p. (DC), Joe M. (ASPL), Alec O. (PL), Alex S. (S, DC), Nick M. (PL), Jack B. (PL), Tim L. (QM) Plus Mr. Peppiattand Mr. Spear.
- Mr. B explained the Nova/ Super Nova award
- It was decided that Troop 71 will help Pack 35 Webelos Earn the Dr. Charles H. Townes SuperNova Award
- This will require a lot of planning and scheduling
- Mr. Buster agreed to be the Mentor (like a merit badge counselor) for them.
- We will work the details at our next SPC meeting
- Launching rockets is a part of the requirements, and we invited the cub scouts to our rocket launch later this year.

- ACTION 1: Tim will Make lists of needed gear and present to Troop Committee by October 15th. Tent stakes are needed
- Pack 35’s cubmaster asked if we could help staff their Covered Bridge Campout Stations. It was agreed that we will advertise the event and encourage our scouts to help, but not make it an official Troop Calendar event. ACTION 2: Mr. Buster to send out a note to the troop by October 5th.
- It was decided that on our first cub day, we would include a pine wood derby car workshop station. ACTION: Mr. Buster to let Mr. Galanti know so he can advertise to the packs.

- It was decided that adults making breakfast for everyone was a good plan to keep

- Year end Pic-A-Nic
- Due to a conflict with the Memorial Holiday, the year end pic-a-nic will be changed (again) to June 6th
- Due to unavailability of adult chaperones, the PhilmontBackpacking Training trip changed was changed to the 18th of October, and will be a one day training exercise. There will be a very early morning depature, full mid-day camp set-up, and full afternoon hike out. Trip Leader Jack Benson will have more details soon. ACTION 7: Jack Benson to develop plan by October 15, 2015
