Modifications RI 2010
1. Change the formula for calculation of the area of the Spinaker sail, symmetrical and asymmetrical, which have ORC and IRC. This will do the area of the spinnaker smaller. SL*(SF+4*SMG)/6 or ASL*(ASF+4*AMG)/6
2. To adjust the long maximum of the spinnaker pool and bowsprit to the new area of the spinnaker, to keep the same measurement as in 2009. With is SPL max= 0.456*(SPA)^0.5 and TPS max= 0.531*(SPA)^0.5
3. There are no difference between symmetrical and asymmetrical Spinaker to go to a highest Spinnaker area
4. To remove the penalize 3 point take bas type for symmetrical and asymmetrical Spinnaker.
5. To declare the area of the greater Genoa HSA and the penalization is in this area.
6. It is allowed 1 % tolerance for the Spinnaker and the Genoa area, without penalize, but to improve the excess to continue in the boat race in a measurement control.
7. The bowsprit do not count 3 penalize point if the TPS is lower or the same as 0.08*LOA+J. Although in the certificate if the TPS is than the J leave bowsprit SI without penalize.
8. When the lead is over 6 % of the boats DSPM the crack factor add 0.5 point for every point % in the year 2010 and 1 point in the year 2011, the formula is PB_int=Round (K*(dspm/Lastre_int)*100-6);1) to round 1 decimal. K will be the same 0,5 in the year 2010 and 1 in the year 2011. That will signify that the boat 5000 kg put on 500 kg signify that it have 10 %-6=4*K points that will be on top in the crack factor. With this you avoid to do the boat harder putting on lead in bilge, it will improve the rating with the enlargement and improve the speed because the concentration and improve the hardness. The weights of the boat have to be in the quill or in the bulb, or in the construction or the elements of habitability but not in bilge.
9. In the formula of the bulb change the K factor for 1 in the quill of lead and the 0,7 in the quill of iron.
10. The effect limit of FP (power factor SV/DSPM) in the formula of FCOR in the year 2009 increase 2, this year it will increase to 1,5, it will give less punishment for the very light boats of DSPM, the heavy boats are beneficiary in relation of the lightest.
11. Improve the outboard motor for 20 points to 25 points in category 5 boats. (Sports boats).
12. Change the formula of the maximum number of men, where someone of the big boats will improve one more man. It will be equalize in the form of numbers of men in RI and IRC. The new formula is Round ((((LOA-(LOA^.5))/.0106)/75);0).
This definitely changes demands:
· The lead en bilge isn’t an advantage for the boat rating.
· The boats which have only asymmetric spinnakers will have less punishment, it won’t give punishment bring the to spinnakers, and the bowsprit shorts won’t give punishment.
· That the lighest boats won’t give punishment in relation to the heavier.
