Applying to the Ontario University Application Centre (OUAC)

When you are ready to begin your application go to:

Click on the “Undergrad (101) Current Ontario High School Students”and go to “101 Resources.” From here you to have access to the: Application Guide, How-To Videos, links to universities, and answers to Frequently Asked Questions.

The How-To Videos will serve to be particularly helpful and it is strongly recommended that students watch them prior to applying.

Responding to Offers of Admission (OUAC)

Your Guidance counsellor will have your confidential OUAC letter by mid -November. This letter contains your School Number, Student Number and Personal Identification (PIN). All three are required for you to begin your on-line application. Your PIN number must be entered as printed using the upper & lower case letters.

Important Dates:

January 17, 2018

  • Apply on-line by this date.
  • If you are applying to universities in Canada, butoutside the province of Ontario that use OUAC to cull marks, you should apply to OUAC first and then enter your OUAC Reference Number on the individual applications to these schools. (Acadia, Bishop’s, U.B.C., University of Calgary, Concordia, Dalhousie, McGill, St. Mary’s, Simon Fraser, University of Victoria, and U.N.B)

  • Recommended last date to submit all information/changes to the OUAC

May 29, 2018

  • You can expect an admission response by this date

June 1, 2018

  • Earliest date you may be required to respond to an offer of admission

Checklist:

Replace your temporary PIN with your own password.

Record and store your access codes and password (OUAC Reference Number and Password) in a safe, memorable place.

Make sure that you have a correct, working and appropriate email address. Frequently check your email for correspondence from OUAC or Universities.

Do you have a valid Visa/MasterCard name, number and expiry date? Alternatively, you may choose to pay by certified cheque or money order. You can also opt for Online banking or Telephone banking.

Cost:

  • $150.00 for the initial three choices
  • $50.00 for each additional university/program beyond the initial three.

Applications to the Royal Military College of Canada are not part of the OUAC processing service. A separate form must be obtained from a Canadian Recruiting Centre. Speak with your Guidance counsellor.

Check that the academic information on the OUAC screen is accurate!
