Bataan takes great pride in showcasing the natural wealth and diversity of our various tourist attractions, among which is our long shoreline of pristine beaches and the various habitat that it nurtures. In cognizance of the concerted effort to preserve our-eco-system, the Provincial Government and BTCFI had been supporting the community based Bantay Pawikan in Nagbalayong, Morong.
At the PAWIKAN CONSERVATION CENTERin Morong,native turtles nest and guard against the extinction of their specie. Aside from this center, the entire Bagac and Morong coasts are known as nesting grounds of 3 out of the 5 sea turtle species in the country. This includes the Hawksbill, Olive Ridley and the Green Turtle.

Bataan Practical Shooters Assn. (BATAS) is a PPSA accredited gun club and SEC registered organization founded in 1998 from members of the different gun clubs of Bataan. BATAS is composed of 150 members from Bataan. They successfully held IPSC competitions of various level.

AIRSOFT WARGAME
Airsoft Wargame, is a unique and exciting sport being played worldwide with similarities to the popular skirmish called paintball, using automatic weapons which are exact replicas of real assault weapons. A growing hobby among firearms enthusiasts and recreational soldiers both young and old, airsoft combines the technical skills required to operate or ‘run’ a gun, with the tactical and strategic skills required on the battlefield to attain victory.
Experience this in the historic Bataan and explore the panoramic sights of the mountain ranges, crystal blue water and historic landmarks which stood as evidence to man’s courage and triumph.
GAME SITES:
PULONG BATO – Located in the municipality of Orion, Bataan. It is an abandoned resort facing the ManilaBay with different terrains that are best suited for Airsoft Games.
MT.SAMAT, PILAR – Atop this mountain in Pilar is the Shrine of Valor, a national shrine built to honor all the defenders of the Philippines during World War II. An ideal site for airsoft wargaming where the huge memorial cross stood as symbol of man’s courage and triumph.

SITIO 31 BRGY. BIAAN, MARIVELES- A fieldcourse for airsoft gaming, Sitio 31, as now called, used to be the Base Camp of the American and Filipino defenders belonging to the 31st artillery battery who defended the rear of the Bataan peninsula against Japanese invaders .

LAKBAY 44
“BATAAN’S ULTIMATE ECO TOUR DESTINATION”
FOR ADVANCED/ EXPERIENCED RIDERS
RIDE TIME: 8- 10 HRS
An epic is an epic. 44km linear distance from the 0km marker at Mariveles of the famed Death March to the 0km marker of its counterpart at Bagac. Thus the name Lakbay 44.One will be too busy riding and appreciating the trail and the surroundings to care about it.
Preparation is essential to ride this trail. Enough practice of saddle time prior to the ride is necessary; so is hydrating one’s body days before. Each rider must likewise bring with him, in his hydrapack, spare tubes, multi-tool, chain cutters, first-aid kit, sun block and food provision that will help him last the day,
This ride is one complete package ideal for whole day + some night ride or camping…The trail will speak for itself when you are riding it..everything a mountain biker/adventurer can wish for: hills, valleys, rock gardens, old guerilla roads, fire roads, jungle tracks, 2 river crossings and whatever imaginable trail condition that a mountain biker can think of..Especially when you are standing at some ridge in Bagac, overlooking a barrio in a beach, with the sun setting on the China Sea and looking forward on the downhill under the blanket of the stars and the guidance of the moon.
STOP POINTS:
- Zero Death March Marker, Mariveles, Bataan
The starting point of Lakbay 44. This point became the temporary camp and shelter for Filipino soldiers and their US allies who stage their final resistance against the Japanese invaders. The historical march started at this very site which ended up at Capas, Tarlac.
- The Tribal Point
Tourist are welcomed and treated by the tribal community with tribal dances and wedding rituals here. The tribal residents are one of the original settlers of Mariveles after World War II and are very active in protecting and safeguarding the forest. Headed by a chieftain, some of their leaders are hired forest guard marshals of the Municipality. The place is known for it’s Pure Honey Bee “Pulot Pukyutan”.

BinawanganRiver
Adventurers may take a dip or swim under an immaculate and pure spring water at BinawanganRiver. It is accessible by foot, bike or horseback ride.
Zero Death March Marker
On April 11, 1942, the Death March also started at this point in Bagac, Bataan. Lakbay 44 ends here.
MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS:
LIYANG TRAILS
“KILLER LOOP TRAIL”
ADVANCED/EXPERIENCED RIDERS
IDEAL MONTHS: SEPTEMBER- FEBRUARY
RIDE TIME: 4-6 HRS.
This trail will test your strength, endurance and bike handling skills. You will find it all here. Paved roads to the trailhead, dirt roads, fire roads, extended climbs with grades up to 35 percent, ruts, roots, single tracks, double tracks, rolling hills, rock gardens, technical ascents and descents, ravines, switchbacks, river crossings, natural launch ramps, all a mountain biker can wish for.
The trail is on old WWII guerilla roads and tracks which circles around Mt.Samat and interconnects with the exciting Joyce ride (if opting Sabatan exit). Other links to this trail: Dunsulan falls, Bataan Bonanza Trails (parallel ridge to the west), and Twin Rivers Trails (thru a switchback that would lead to Bgy. Mabato-Orion exit.
Spectacular view of nearby Mt.Samat and the hills of Bagac and Orion will accompany you on this ride.
KAPUT TRAILS
“KILLER LOOP JR. TRAIL”
ADVANCED/EXPERIENCED RIDERS
RIDE TIME: 3-5 HRS.
Located at Orion, the trail is composed of rolling hills, traversing dirt roads and single tracks and some long uphill. Once you go down, especially if you take the trail which local mountain bikers call the Joyce ride, the real fun starts. Rut laden roads, switchbacks, long single tracks sums up this 7km downhill, with the rider enveloped by the mesmerizing view oh the hills of Orion and ManilaBay.
Start and end point is at the Total gas station in Pilar crossing.
MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS:
QUINAUAN POINTTRAIL
“THE RIDE OF THE LIFETIME”
BEGINNERS, ADVANCED/EXPERIENCED RIDERS
IDEAL MONTHS: SEPTEMBER- MAY
RIDE TIME 2-4 HRS. + 45 MINS. BOAT RIDE
The trail going to the cove of Quinauan is marked with ruts, rock gardens, fire roads, single tracks, old guerilla roads, and a stretch of forested area. As one enters it, one will feel God's hands fully at work in nature's wonders with ancient acacia and fire trees 10 storeys high, green cogon meadows, rolling hills, the view of the beach, and trails disappearing in wads of cogon, and challenging downhill rides.
Suggested starting point is the BEPZ building (Bataan Economic Zone). 2K road ride to trailhead at Bgy Balon Anito. Uphill is gradual and winding, some thru forest sections. The reward is a 7K dowhill blast to anawesome scenery…crystal blue water and the white sand beach cove of Quinauan.
How to end the ride :
1)Take a pumpboat back to Mariveles for 45mins. This option is not recommended dring the months of June, July and August due to rough seas
2)Ride back through the same trail or
3)Continue the ride to Bagac, Bataan(another 35kms). In this option, overnight stay at Quinauan is recommended.
Links from BAGAC: you can stay at Montemar Resort or any other beach resorts in the vicinity, or continue your ride back to the east side of Bataan (ie Orion ferry terminal) thru the Bagac-Pilar expressway (25K) or ride to SUBIC BAYthru Morong gate
(30K road ride from Bagac).
ALAS-ASIN TRAILS
“KAMAYA POINT PLAYGROUND”
FOR BEGINNERS
RIDE TIME: 2-3 HRS.
A short 10K loop of single tracks and 'ober-da-bakod' leaps. Practice ride for newbies who want to experience the single track demands, learn shifting techniques and loves excellent scenery.
Suggested starting point: Alas-asin or, Mountain view village.

MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS:
ABUCAY-SAMAL LOOP
BEGINNERS/ADVANCED/EXPERIENCED RIDERS
RIDE TIME: 3-5 HRS.
The trail will traverse the mountainous area of the Abucay
and Samal Municipalties. The ride starts and ends at the Samal Municipal Hall. The climb to the peak of the whole trail will be a challenge so this ride is not recommended for beginners except if you are, physically, in tiptop shape. But the area has alternate routes for beginners.
Paved, rolling hills and dirt roads will lead you up the climb but you will be rewarded with 7-8 km of technical downhill along rut-laden farm roads, single tracks, complete with sharp turns and switchbacks that will keep
your adrenaline levels up. A bike carrying climb following
a stream crossing will cut the downhill in half, but it is all worth it.
ABU-ABU TRAIL
BEGINNERS
RIDE TIME: 2-3 HRS.
Located at BalangaCity, the ride usually starts and ends at the Bataan Capitol grounds. It will traverse paved roads leading to the trailhead. The ride consists of fire roads, short single tracks, and an optional refreshing dip at a nearby river. This trail is perfect for newcomers to the sports, to practice their shifting and handling skills and also to experience the joys and benefits of real, mountain biking.
SANTA MONICA TRAIL
BEGINNERS/ADVANCED RIDERS
RIDE TIME: 2-3 HRS.
Situated in Mariveles, the ride starts and ends at the BEPZ building.
The early part of the ride is a paved road climb to the trailhead. Once you hit the trails it will be rolling hills. Single tracks, fire roads and paved roads constitute this ride.
MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS:
TWIN RIVERS TRAIL
BEGINNERS/ ADVANCED RIDERS
Located in Orion, Bataan - a 30K loop. Suggested starting points: 1) Port Capinpin, Orion Ferry terminal or 2) TOTAL Pilar Gas Station along Roman Highway. Trailhead is at Bgy. Damulog, Orion. Road ride to the trail head is about 3km from either starting point.
Once you have a view of ManilaBay, you're in Brgy Mabig. Before reaching Brgy Mindanao, take the right trail on the fork (just after a prominent rock on the right with names scribbled on it). You'll glide though hills and cut though forest sections with 5 stream crossings. After the fifth crossing, the trail ends and you will see a short steep trail that will intersect with another trail. The uphill trail to the left will lead you to Liyang/Killer Loop, while the downhill track to the right will take you back to the highway (around 7K downhill). The single track will soon widen and end at Bgy Mabato, Orion. You will notice that from the Mabato exit, your entry point thru Bgy Damulog along Roman highway is only 400 meters away. A road ride of 3K back to your starting point will complete your play.
MOUNTAIN BIKE CIRCUIT RACE :
“PADYAKAN SA BATAAN”
A 5km mountain bike circuit race is yearly held at the town of Mariveles in time of the nation’s celebration of the Araw ng Kagitingan. The race is being open to all mountain bike enthusiasts from Bataan and nearby provinces and Manilaarea.
