Command Sgt. Maj. Kristopher Cook

Kristopher Cook graduated from Wooster High School, Ohio. In 1993, he attended Basic Combat Training at Ft. Sill, Okla. and Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Bliss, Texas. Cook has held various leadership positions to include: team chief, squad leader, platoon sergeant, drill sergeant, research, development, test, and evaluation NCOIC, first sergeant, command sergeant major, and operations sergeant major.

Cook’s duty assignments include: A Battery 1st Battalion 7th Air Defense Artillery, Kaiserslautern, Germany; D Battery, 3-43rd ADA, Fort Bliss; C Battery and Headquarters Battery, 1-56th ADA, Fort Bliss; B Battery, 2-43rd ADA, Fort Bliss; Army Test and Evaluation Command, Alexandria, Va.; C Battery, 2-6th ADA, Fort Bliss; HHB, 2-6th ADA, Ft. Bliss; Sergeants Major Academy, Ft. Bliss; and HHB, 3-2nd ADA, Fort Sill.

His military schooling includes: Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course, Drill Sergeant School, Master Fitness Trainers Course, Air Assault School, Airborne School, Advanced Noncommissioned Officers Course, First Sergeant Course, Battle Staff Noncommissioned Officers Course, Combatives Level 1, Sergeant’s Major Academy (Class 61), CSM/SGM Force Management Course, and the Pre-Command Course.

He is currently pursuing a bachelor of science in history.

Cook’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (with one oak leaf cluster), the Purple Heart, the Meritorious Service Medal (with two OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (with eight OLC), Army Achievement Medal (with 10 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (sixth award), National Defense Service Medal (with bronze star), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (with bronze star), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (with two campaign stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (with numeral four), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, NATO Medal, Presidential Unit Citation (Army), Presidential Unit Citation (Navy), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Superior Unit Award, the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Combat Action Badge, and the German Shutznsnur Gold (fifth award). He is a member of the Honorable Order of St. Barbara, and a member of the prestigious Sgt. Audi Murphy Club.
