Title of Post:Training & Development Officer

Salary:£28,485 (including inner London weighting) pro rata
Annual Leave:25 days pro rata + bank holidays pro rata

Description
The post-holder will support other organisations to work more effectively with migrant families with no recourse to public funds. S/he will focus on building capacity in other organisations in relation to section 17 of the Children Act 1989 and related provisions. The post-holder will also carry a small personal caseload, advising clients on their support options.
Main Tasks
A.Capacity building
- Develop and deliver training sessions on support options for families with NRPF
- Staff a telephone advice line for advisers, answering queries and recording information regarding calls
- Manage and deliver intensive support to a small number oforganisations to increase their ability to work with NRPF families
- Write and publish online materials and factsheets to support other organisations working with NRPF families
- Raise the profile of Project 17’s capacity building services
- Keep up to date with legislative and other changes affecting NRPF migrants
- Develop the service with support from the Director
- To ensure all policies, procedures and working practices maintain in line with quality standards
B. Advice work
- To carry a small personal caseload advising and advocating for migrant families with no recourse to public funds on their financial and housing options
- To ensure case recording systems are maintained and up to date in accordance with policies and procedures
C.General Duties
- To attend relevant training and development courses
- To be administratively self-serving
- To undertake any other related duties as required, consistent with the development of the post and the organisation
- To undertake occasional evening and weekend work
