AES Scholarship - ENGINEERING- DEADLINE: October 6, 2013
Students must submit an essay of between 500 and 1000 words in answer to the following question: When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? ACT SIX Scholarship- DEADLINE: October 29, 2013
The Act Six Leadership and Scholarship Initiative is the Northwest's only full-tuition, full-need scholarship for emerging urban and community leaders who want to use their college education to make a difference on campus and in their communities at home. Horatio Alger Washington Scholarship Program - DEADLINE: October 25, 2013
Ten (10) $6,000 Scholarships Awarded The Horatio Alger Washington Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students in the State of Washington who have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity and who aspire to pursue higher education.
To be eligible to apply for the Horatio Alger Washington Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria: Be enrolled full time as a high school senior in Washington; be progressing normally toward graduation in spring/summer of 2014 with plans to enter a college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation; Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution); Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required); Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities; Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity; Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0; Be a resident of the State of Washington; and Be a United States citizen - See more at: https://www.horatioalger.org/scholarships/programs.cfm
Davis Law Group Scholar Athlete Program-selected WEEKLY January through March
Davis Law Group’s Scholar Athlete Program™ is a program to recognize exceptional student athletes that are performing well in the classroom and on the field by awards them a scholarship. Anyone is eligible to nominate a scholar; parents, coaches, peers, teammates, teacher or school administrators.
From January to March, two high school seniors in the greater Seattle area, will be chosen weekly as the Davis Law Group Scholar Athlete of the Week and given a $100 scholarship to acknowledge their academic and athletic commitment. A total of 20 scholarship recipients will be selected. After all 20 recipients are announced, scholars have the choice to enter the Sportsmanship Essay Contest for a chance to win an additional $1000 scholarship. Coca Cola Scholars-DEADLINE: October 31, 2013 - (extended to November 3, 2013)
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation supports more than 1,400 college students each year, with annual scholarships of $3.4 million through two nationally recognized programs on behalf of the Coca-Cola System. Scholarship recipients typically excel academically and in service to others. Most Coca-Cola Scholars share a passion for social justice and many have overcome tremendous challenges to pursue their dreams. High school seniors throughout the United States who meet the eligibility requirements may apply for one of our four-year, achievement-based scholarships. An initial application becomes available on our website in August each year. Award for Aspirations in Computing (Women 9-12th grade)-DEADLINE: November 4, 2013
The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing honors young women at the high school level for their computing-related achievements and interests. Recipients are selected for their computing and IT aptitude, leadership ability, academic history, and plans for post-secondary education. The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing offers both a national and local affiliate competitions to generate support and visibility for women's participation in communities nationwide. Seattle University's Sullivan Leadership Award-DEADLINE: November 15, 2013
The Sullivan Leadership Award represents Seattle University’s holistic definition of academic excellence, one that transcends classroom performance. The award is a full scholarship, equal to tuition, room and board for each of four years, designed to support students whose records reflect their commitment to: Academic Excellence, Service and Leadership, Community, Spirituality, Global Engagement. Violet Richardson Award - DEADLINE: December 1, 2013 by 5 p.m.
Named for the president of the first Soroptimist club, each year, Soroptimist International of Friday Harbor gives the Violet Richardson Award to honor a girl age 14 to17 who make a difference through volunteer service. Recipients receive a monetary award from our local club and are eligible for additional awards at other levels of the organization. One winner is chosen to receive a finalist award, which includes a contribution of $2,500 to the charitable organization of the recipient's choice. ELKS MOST VALUABLE STUDENT-DEADLINE: December 6, 2013
The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2014 competition. Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to apply. Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks. College students are not eligible to apply.
Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; permanent legal resident status does not qualify. Male and female students compete separately. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. AXA Achievement Scholarship- DEADLINE: December 15, 2013 - NOTE: The application deadline is December 15, 2013, but if 10,000 applications are received before that date, the program will automatically close.
One winner from each state is selected by our nonprofit partner, Scholarship America, to receive one-time scholarship awards of $10,000 each. Our scholarships winners are known as AXA Achievers. American Legion Washington Oratorical Contest- DEADLINE: December 15, 2013
“A constitutional speech contest” - The American Legion Oratorical Contest exists to develop deeper knowledge and appreciation for the U.S. Constitution among high school students. Over $138,000 in scholarships can be awarded each year. The overall national contest winner gets an $18,000 scholarship. Second place takes home $16,000, and third gets $14,000. Each department (state) winner who is certified into and participates in the national contest’s first round receives a $1,500 scholarship. HSF/ General College Scholarships - DEADLINE: December 15, 2013
HSF/ General College Scholarships are designed to assist students of Hispanic heritage obtain a college degree. Scholarships are available on a competitive basis to: Graduating High School Seniors, Community College Students. Community College Transfer Students, Undergraduate Students, and Graduate Students. Governor'sScholarship for Foster Youth-DEADLINE: December 16, 2013
The Washington State Governors’ Scholarship for Foster Youth is a scholarship program that helps young men and women from foster care continue their education and earn a college degree. Eligible students must meet specific criteria. Scholarship award amounts range from $2000 to $4000 depending on the college of attendance. The scholarship can be accessed for up to five years to complete an undergraduate study. NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards are open to any graduating high school senior entering their freshman year at an accredited (not for profit) two- or four-year university, college or vocational/technical institute. The Anne Ford and Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarships offer financial assistance to two graduating seniors with documented learning disabilities (LD) who are pursuing post-secondary education. In 2014, the National Eagle Scout Association will award over 200 scholarships to Eagle Scouts ranging in size from $1,000 to $50,000 each. Careers that Work Scholarship Program - Awarded by your High School
The Careers That Work! scholarship program provides tuition assistance for high school graduates pursuing education at participating private career colleges in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. This program makes available to every high school in Oregon, Washington and Idaho (public and private) five $1000 tuition scholarships to award to students each year. Graduating students awarded the Careers That Work! Scholarship receive a tuition scholarship to pursue an education at a participating private career college in the Northwest.
