Dear Cambridge Family,

I hope all our families had a wonderful summer, and I hope everyone is as excited as I am to start the new school year! It has been a wonderful and productive summer here at Cambridge, and our staff is ready for year six. I want to officially welcome all our new freshmen to high school and all our new students who recently moved into our school. I also want to welcome back our upperclassmen and the Class of 2018. I can’t wait for our seniors to serve as role models for our student body. Here are a few bullet points to recap our summer:

  • Our students will experience our brand new Student Center that will support their learning, productivity, and creativity.
  • Our staff has grown with the addition of 20 new staff members who join our talented staff and support our students.
  • Our custodial crew has worked extremely hard to have our building looking brand new.
  • Our athletic and marching band programs are in full action, and our students are preparing for the upcoming seasons and competitions.

Another item I would like to bring to your attention is our morning carpool. Starting at 7:30 am Monday morning, drivers will not be able to make a left hand turn into the front of the school from Bethany Bend. All parents who access Cambridge from Hwy 9 to Bethany Bend can access Cambridge byutilizing our access road off Hwy 9 just north of Stonecreek Church and across from 9 North Tire. Parents who use our access road will drop off their students by our locker rooms which are next to our gym. We will also maintain our carpool drop in the front of the school. Please see the map at the link below that outlines our carpool flow. You can also find bus information for your student by following this link.

In addition, we will provide short-term visitor parking in the front of the school. From 8:30 am to 2:30 pm if you are dropping something off at school or will be staying less than 30 minutes, we ask that you park on the left side of the lane and leave the right side open. In case of an emergency, we need to allow access for an ambulance or fire engine if needed.

While our new families experience getting used to our traffic flow the first day of school, our school day begins at 8:20 am. We will still encourage our students to wear spirit wear the first week of school. Your students can expect to be in advisement the first day of school to receive a new copy of their schedule as well as purchasing a locker for $15 if they need one. Please see our bell schedule for the first week of school on our web site CambridgeHS.org.

While it’s hard to believe summer is over, the excitement for the new year is growing. I look forward to a great school year and to see you at Open House on August 25.
