All-State Auditions

Please Remember:
• Your audition will go in the following order: Solo, Etudes, Major Scales, Chromatic Scale.
• Be sure you have ORIGINAL MUSIC for everything you play. You CANNOT play from photo copies.
• You cannot have anything in the audition that would identify that you are from Waterloo West.
• Be sure to bring all music, reeds, solo, etude book, valve oil, etc. Everything you need to be successful!
• You will need $$ for at least 2 good meals (lunch and dinner) during the day.
• Bring something else to work on/do (homework, book, etc.) for when you are not auditioning.
Suggestions:
• Dress up for your audition! You can bring other clothes to wear when you are not auditioning.
• Bring water to take into the audition with you.
• Take 2 deep breaths before you play anything for the judge in the audition.
• Concentrate. Keep your mind on the music. Feel good about what you are doing!
• Remember, the judge WANTS you to do well! They are not looking for you to mess up.

Prior to Your Audition
45 Minutes Check at your Audition Center to see if they are on time
30 Minutes Begin slowly warming-up in the Gymnasium
Pick up your Audition Card from Mr. Conrad or Mr. Kleinheinz
15 Minutes Move to Warm-Up Room
5 Minutes Move to Audition Center
