PURPOSE

To provide expertise, guidance and assistance to Baylor Missions specifically in the area of missions education, as relating to Global Missions.

STRUCTURE

The Ministry Associate, under the supervision of the Assistant Director, will focus on creating and implementing missions education initiatives. This is a part-time, 20 hr/week position that works mainly during regular business hours, with some evening and weekend events. He/she will work closely with the Assistant Director for Missions, Coordinator for Urban Missions and other Missions Ministry Associate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·  Plan Missions Education events relating to global missions (including annual events like the Missions Fair).

·  Assist Assistant Director for Missions with Global Missions recruitment including hosting interest meetings, Baylor Chapel tables, Dr Pepper Hour, Meet & Eat events, etc.

·  Missions Mentorship: meet monthly with a group of students from the Baylor & Beyond LLC and assist with developing missions education and opportunities within this residential community.

·  Assist with Baylor Missions orientation for trip participants (ie. BUMissions Summit).

·  Serve as campus liaison for Go Now Missions applicants

·  Write for Baylor Missions blog.

·  Assist with special events hosted by Baylor Missions

·  Attend weekly BU Missions staff meeting and semi-annual staff retreats

·  Attend annual Spiritual Life retreat (tentative 2nd week of August) and monthly staff development luncheons (1st Tuesdays)

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

·  Assist with all facets of ministry as it pertains to the Office of Spiritual Life.

·  Attend Student Life staff development luncheons when available.

·  Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

·  Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree

·  Other Educational Requirements/Preferences: Must be enrolled as a full-time student, preferably at Truett
