Francophone Region Project Description

You have just been hired by a regional marketing company! Congratulations!! Your first job is to write an ad campaign for the new client--a French speaking area of the world. (Those French classes sure paid off!!) Your task is for you to team up (with 1 or 2 people, but no more, these are lean times in the marketing world...) and decide which client to take.

·  You and your partner (s) will need to create a brochure showing the highlights of the area you are marketing. This flier will need to contain these categories of information: a) sports and entertainment b) sight-seeing c) hotels and restaurants d) historical information. This flier will be given a “group” grade , but the individual parts will need to be assignned to different people in your group, who will be given an individual grade for his/her contribution.

·  Then, you will need to put together (as a team) a 45 second commercial that shows off the best of that region. It needs to be something that would really convince someone to visit the region!

One note on the filmmaking: We will do all of the filming and editing in class and in the computer lab. In order to make a 45 second film, you will need to have about 13-15 images (pictures) and some kind of music to play in the background. Choose music that will reflect the “sound” of your area. I have music you could choose from, or you can bring in your own. I will need to approve your selection before it is used... AND, even though we are filming in class, you and your partner(s) will need to have all the pictures chosen, and a storyboard written out before you can film.

·  After the project is completed, everyone in the group will evaluate the amount of participation and contribution of the individuals in the group. Mme Uzzell will also fill out this evaluation.

This project will be worth 250 points. 100 points for the film, 100 points for the brochure, and 50 points for the work put into the project. Amusez-vous bien!!

Choose from the following regions that have contacted the regional office. I have included at least one web site for each area to help you get started.
