Map 11 – Central Scotland, Grangemouth and Perth

Summary / Duration / Notes – valid at time of Engineering Conference / Operator Comments / Responses / Actions
Collessie (Rev) / Weeks 37-38 (2x29hrs)
Bonnymuir (Dn) / Weeks 42-45 (4x29hrs) / Work piggybacking at – Greenhill Lower Jn (12hrs) in week 43 for Annual Maintenance Tamp. / Now Weeks 44-47 in Evo2 – due to Grangemouth S&C re-dating (Greenhill Lower Jn in wk 46).
Grangemouth S&C renewal and follow-up tamp. / Weeks 46-48 (2x54hrs; 1x29hrs)
Week 52 (16hrs) / Work piggybacking at – Dunning (Up) and Carmuirs East/West (Up)(both 29hrs) in week 46. / EWS – 54hrs will be problematic at any time.
FSR – request re-date Carmuirs East-West outwith Grangemouth works. Also re-date Grangemouth to avoid Rugby Internationals. Now Weeks 41-43 & 48 in Evo2.
Problems persist - particularly packaging Carmuirs East/West and Bonnymuir.
Newburgh (Rev) / Weeks 1-3 (3x29hrs) / Now Weeks 3-5 in Evo2 – due to Duke St re-dating / resourcing considerations.
Abernethy (Rev) / Weeks 4-5 (2x29hrs) / Now 1x54hrs in Week 7 in Evo2 (piggybacking Hilton Jn S&C works) – due to Duke St re-dating.
Ninewells (Dn) / Week 5 (29hrs) / FSR – best undertaken with Hilton Jn S&C renewal. Now Week 6 in Evo2.
Hilton Jn S&C Renewal / Weeks 6-9 (1x78hrs, 3x54hrs – final week on Ladybank Branch only)
Week 15 (1x16hrs) / Works piggybacking as follows :-
Week 6 – UB 110/025 & 026 Abernethy (78hrs on Ladybank Branch); Kippenross Tunnel (Dn) (78hrs); Stirling Plat. 6 (29hrs).
Week 7 - UB 110/29 Carey Farm (54hrs on Ladybank Branch);
Jeanfield (Up) (54hrs); Ashfield (Dn) (29hrs); Stirling Middle S&C Maintenance Tamp (18hrs).
Week 8 - UB 110/032 Clayton, Bridge of Earn & UB 110/033 Patersons, Bridge of Earn (54hrs on Ladybank Branch); Auchterarder (Up) (29hrs); Stirling Plat. 9 (29hrs);
Week 9 – Collessie (Civils, 54hrs on Ladybank Branch)
Week 15 – Follow-up tamp (ALB). / Following the S-A-K presentation the Operator consensus was that Stirling Middle S&C renewal should be brought forward to coincide with the final phase of re-opening works, to avoid significant disruption in 2008/09.
NR – there may be problems undertaking the S&C design in time to meet these timescales.
Action – NR to review options for bringing Stirling Middle S&C renewal forward and deferring Hilton Jn to 08/09 (MB / NW / AR - RSPG).

S-A-K Re-opening – presentation from Marc Hamilton – distributed on CD with minutes

–  21km or line, single with 3 passing loops.

–  Wk9 of 2007 – 54hrs commissioning possession at Stirling (wheels free duration yet to be confirmed) SN83 – SM47, and LG28 – agreed position of temporary buffer.

–  Looking to piggyback Larbert S&C disruptives in weeks 25-28 of 2006 for preparatory works.

–  SC121 route number to be retained.

–  Question to Martin Batty - are block joints to be renewed in Platforms 6&9? Action – MB to advise

–  Question from Audrey McArthur – when are timetabled services due to start? FSR replied – hopefully from June 2007, but the timeline for driver training is very tight (2 weeks), so Project Team / TIE / EWS / FSR need to review – so a September date may be more realistic..

–  Draft timetable needed by NR asap as there are Network Change aspects that need to be progressed.

–  Martin Batty – all to note that Stirling Middle Renewal may need to be undertaken in 2008. All Operators requested that this work be brought forward to coincide with SAK works. NR – this will be considered but is likely to be very challenging, particularly re. design timescales and compatibility with SAK works.

Map 12 – Dundee to Aberdeen

Summary / Duration / Notes – valid at time of Engineering Conference / Operator Comments / Resulting Actions
Mossend – Elgin Re-gauging Scheme / Weeks 39-40, 48-52
(2x54hrs; 1x29hrs; 4x54hrs) / Programme of bridgeworks, track slews etc. to enable higher gauge freight to run via this route between Mossend and Elgin. The majority of worksites requiring disruptive access are understood to be between Dundee and Aberdeen.
Works piggybacking in same weeks - Earthworks in the Stonehaven area.
Kinnaber (Dn) / Week 48 (29hrs)
Montrose S&C renewal / Weeks 49-51 (1x 78hrs; 2x54hrs) / May involve re-modelling of layout – disruptive access requirements to be refined during design phase. Includes reinstatement of 3 a/b at the North end of the station. Possible bi-di working through the main platform. / EWS – may be some issues with the 78hr duration disruptive.
NR – design not finalised yet – options to go through RSPG and RURIG reviews.
Action – NR to review design options in order to finalise disruptive access requirements (MB / NW / AR - RSPG).
Arbroath (Up & Dn) / Week 49 (78hr) / Piggybacking Montrose S&C renewal.
Balcathie (Up) / Weeks 50-51 (54hrs) / Piggybacking Montrose S&C renewal.
Dock St Tunnel (Up) / Week 52 (54hrs) / PL track renewal within Tunnel - lighting and ventilation requirements make it uneconomic to undertake as a series of 29hr disruptives.
