This is an excellent opportunity for a registered nurse to further develop their clinical and managerial skills within a dynamic environment, delivering services for Sexual Health, Blood Borne Viruses, Rheumatology and Bone Health.

You will be a registered nurse and have previous experience in a Ward Management, Team Leader or Lead Nurse role.

As a specialist service we understand you may not currently have the full range of managerial and clinical skills outlined in the full job description and person specification. We are looking for an individual seeking to further develop their skills and we can offer a full package of clinical and managerial support which will be tailored to your needs. Are you looking for a change, a challenge, and a breath of fresh air? Do you want to be part of a new team that will re-shape service delivery within the Community Hospital setting?

We are seeking nurses who have experience at specialist or advanced practice level ideally previously within a hospital /community team setting. Educated at master’s level in Advanced practice you will have a high level of autonomous clinical decision making in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex, multi-dimensional problems.

We are flexible in our approach with these posts, and are happy to talk to anyone with a genuine enthusiasm in delivering high quality healthcare in our Community Hospitals.

These are full-time permanent posts, working 37.5 hours per week, however we are happy to consider job share and flexible working patterns if desired. Ability to travel is essential and you will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within central Fife to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

PLANNED CARE DIRECTORATE - CHILDREN’S UNIT

ADVANCED PAEDIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER

A vacancy has arisen in the Children’s Unit at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy for an Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner at Band 7 level to join our team. At present we have 3 qualified Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner.

Our unit consists of an outpatient department, ambulatory care unit and an acute paediatric ward. We care for children requiring both medical and surgical nursing whilst working closely with the Neonatal Unit, Accident and Emergency department and Theatre Recovery and the tertiary centres in Edinburgh and Glasgow

You will be required to be a qualified Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner with recent experience of working as an APNP. You will be required to work within a multidisciplinary team being accountable for the delivery of specialised episodes of care. Excellent communication skills and multi-disciplinary working are essential

An up to date knowledge of evidence-based practice, and a commitment to learning and the delivery of clinically effective care are vital.

We require a forward thinking individual to join a small team in a 8 bedded unit based at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy providing critical care to the acutely ill medical patient including cardiac and haemodynamic monitoring and non-invasive ventilation.

You must have recent acute medical and HDU experience and be able to demonstrate up to date clinical knowledge.

Strong leadership skills are an essential requirement as is an ability to combine the demands of the clinical role and the managerial role.

Hours will be worked to meet the needs of the service which may include weekend and shift work if this is required.
