Christmas is a great time to help our children understand the message of giving and sharing with the less fortunate. Every year each Sunday school class sponsors and buys gifts for a child from KinderCottage in East St. Louis. To provide funds for this mission project, the Sunday school classes will be holding a bake sale November 20th. Please check out our yummy treats and baked goods and support our children in this mission project.
The Mission Board is planning for their Annual Community Thanksgiving Feast. This year we will be holding it on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, November 20th from 4—7pm in the Social Hall. All are welcome to attend to share a meal. We will be looking for Donations of: #10 Cans of Corn, Green beans, and Applesauce; Country Time Lemonade, Ice Tea, and Coffee; Plastic Utensils - Forks, Knifes, and Spoons and Paper Products: 3 Compartment Paper Plates, Napkins, 8oz. Foam Coffee cups and 16oz. Plastic Drinking cups.
TOTENFEST - On Sunday, November 20 we will reflect back both in grief and gratitude and remember those of our fellowship who have died, or as the early Christian said - have had their birthday in eternity. We invite you to be with us on that Sunday, especially if there is a loved one whom you will be remembering on that day.
Our ecumenical (many-church) Thanksgiving Service sponsored by HAMA (Highland Area Ministerial Alliance) is on Sunday, November 20th at 6pm at the Highland Middle School. All are welcome as Highland's pastors join together in leading a worship service of gratitude. This is always a tender and wondrous time to give thanks to the God of all Life!
Work Day - Mark your calendar for another work day scheduled for Saturday, December 3 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We will again work on the landscaping around the buildings trimming the bushes back for the winter. Please join us for some good old fashion work and great fellowship. Hope to see you there. The more the merrier.
