The Dawson County Humane Society is proud to be a no kill shelter dedicated to giving shelter to homeless animals while finding loving homes for them. Before an animal is adopted, each one is fully vetted and spayed or neutered. Since education about animals is instrumental in changing attitudes, we have programs for elementary and middle school students targeted to the development of positive attitudes and humane treatment of all animals, the importance of spaying and neutering, as well as the responsibility of pet ownership. We have a low income spay/neuter program for families on public assistance.

The Dawson County Humane Society is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and most of our revenue is generated through fundraising events such as the dog show and donations from our generous supporters. Only one-third of our operating expenses are generated from county revenues even though we are under contract to provide services to all animals picked up by county animal control. We are proud to retain our no kill status and work tirelessly to seek funding for the welfare of our animals.

The rain date for this event is September 27. Please watch our website for any change of date.

Please join us in the Fall for the Pups in the Park Dog Show! We always need your support.
