A Full Day of Riding Club Individual Qualifiers Was Held at Colraine by Kind Invitation

A full day of Riding Club individual qualifiers was held at Colraine by kind invitation of Mike Gadston & Zoe Gwennap. The Round 2 RW senior dressage qualifier was the most hotly contested section of the day, with Sabine Smith finishing a few points ahead of Becky Wright, both of whom scored in excess of 70%.A close battle developed in the R2 RW senior novice top score between Pat Hatch & Gwendra Peace. Pat jumped first & clocked up an enviable score in excess of 1200 points over Zoe Gwennaps excellently designed Top score course. When Gwendras turn came she set off in her usual determined manner, but couldn't quite match up to Pats tally.

The combined competition produced some excellent performances across both disciplines of Riding Test & Style Jumping, with Becky Wright taking the qualifying place for the championships to be held at Aston le Walls in June at the BRC Festival of the Horse.

A combined training team event made up of RTs & Style Jumping (starting with a very basic RT & Style jumping set at 2'3, & progressing through the more involved RTs / higher Style Jumping courses) is planned to be held at Colraine on 30th May, & a full schedule for that will be out very shortly. This will be an opportunity for your members who don't usually participate in area qualifiers to have a go at a team event, & also to take part in both RT & Style jumping, which they may not be able to do a club level. We are very grateful to Mike & Zoe for offering us this competition, so we hope that your members will support it. The schedule will also include some Top score classes
