This newsletter contains a summary of the latest information and coming events related to careers.

A. COMING EVENTS

Ø 1 July – Newcastle University Open Day for Year 11 and 12 students cost $25.

Ø 30 July – Taree Careers Expo at Chatham High School (parents welcome)

Ø 22, 23 November – Bar Courses (RSA & RCG) for Yr 12 leavers.

Ø December – St John’s First Aid Course for Year 12

C. HUNTING FOR JOBS

Students should have their resumes ready with references etc. They should be contacting employment agencies, apprenticeship centres etc. and enquiring about job availability. This can also be done at the Careers Expo held at Chatham High School on Friday 30 July. Students should also be checking the online job search engines that can be accessed via our school’s careers website. At the Careers Expo will be large employer groups such as Australian Industry Group, Racing NSW, Motor Traders Association etc. Please check out all the other possible employment groups as well. The newspapers also need to be followed for possible jobs.

Many jobs however come from visiting employers and by using contacts of family and friends.
