To the Australian Human Rights Commission,
I would like to add my submission, as invited. Australia has become a multi cultural society and that is welcomed by the majority of Australians. I believe the main attraction to Australia is the Judeo Christian basis on which Australia was built - this is what made Australia - Australia. I think it is very wrong for people of other nations to move here and want to change Australia into the nation they have come from. One has to question why is was they came here in the first place. Is there any foreign nations in the world who would change their laws and their very basis of society to
appease Australian immigrants? Obviously our Aussies went there in the first place because they loved and wanted to assimilate into their new country. Why is Australia so keen to become anything other than Australia? I think, on the whole, Aussies have been very accepting of other cultures infiltrating their society and have embraced many of their cultural diversities -but not to the point of changing laws
and turning our country into something that it is not and never should be e.g. another China, or India or Afghanistan etc. I really believe that the majority of those immigrants wouldn't want that either. - that's not what they came here for.
I also think it would be in Australia's best interest to be very wary of those who come here with agendas to change Australia from what it is and always has been. We are fairly protected from the horrors we see on TV almost an a daily basis, but if our laws were to be changed to become more liberal towards religions such as Islam there is no doubt that we would see those same horrors here on our own doorstop.
I often read what is happening to countries like Great Britain and France, just to nametwo, with large Islamic populations who are very close to accepting Islamic Sharia Law and the upheavals they are experiencing, this is NOT what Australians want for their beautiful peaceful nation.
I would also like to add, whilst on the topic of Human Rights -that precious unborn babies are humans too and as such should have rights!Because they are unable to speak for themselves, I as a mother, must take a stand to try to protect them. Abortion should never be accepted as a human right, it is a human desire albeit a very selfish one. I particularly object to abortion being used as a means of contraception - it is immoral and wrong, not to mention the severe, long termconsequences to the health and well being of the mother.
It is NOT a human right to inflict mothers to life of guilt and remorse when they are advised by abortionists that killing their unborn baby is the only way to "get rid of their problem". It is quite obvious that the current "safe sex" education is not working and needs a serious overhaul.
Yours very sincerely,
Rhonda
