Paseo Vista Archery Club JOAD

Club JOAD is for recreational archers who only want to participate in archery on weekends and might only enter a couple tournaments each year. It is also for those archers who have their own coach and just need to be a member of a JOAD club to be able to enter USAA sanctioned State and National Competitions. PVAC JOAD is open to youth archers, ages 8 years to20 years old (younger archers can be evaluated by the coaching staff) grouped in different age and competitive divisions. Distinctions are for male and female, recurve and compound, and divided by age into Yeoman, Bowman, Cub, Cadet, and Junior divisions. Instructors are available to archers on a limited basis only.

1.  PVAC youth members will be considered as part of the PVAC Club JOAD. They can utilize PVAC equipment and may enter JOAD tournaments (with USAA membership). These archers will generally shoot on Saturdays at open shooting times along with PVAC archers. During weekday Team JOAD practices, Club JOAD members may set up (and take down) their own bales separately and shoot on their own with parental supervision or a private coach who is a USA Archery certified instructor or coach.

2.  All Club JOAD Archers must maintain a yearly membership in the Paseo Vista Archery Club (PVAC). This membership helps to support the club and maintain equipment used by the JOAD program.

3.  Club JOAD Archers should maintain a yearly membership in the United State Archery Association (USAA). Family memberships are encouraged as parent and family participation in programs such as instructor certification and judging requires USAA membership. USAA membership is required for entry into JOAD state and national tournaments.

4.  Club JOAD archers able to shoot the age-appropriate distances are encouraged to shoot in the AZ State JOAD Indoor and AZ State JOAD Outdoor tournaments at a minimum. More competitive recommended tournaments include: World Archery Festival in Las Vegas, USAA National Indoor Tournament Regional in Rio Rancho or Salt Lake City, JOAD National Outdoor, USAA Target Nationals, and Jr. US Archery Team qualifiers. Club JOAD Archers can purchase PVAC Club shirts and wear them at these events if they desire. Archers are asked to keep PVAC clothing in clean appearance at all times.

5.  All JOAD Archers must adhere to the Paseo Archers Code of Conduct.
