22 FlashMics For The National News Bureau, Channel 11 Public Relations Department, Thailand

The National News Bureau, Channel 11 Public Relations Department of Thailand has purchased 22 HHB FlashMic Digital Recording Microphones for use by its radio reporters.

Combining a studio quality microphone capsule with a broadcast quality Flash recorder and USB interface, the FlashMic provides The National News Bureau reporters with an all-in-one portable recording solution that’s both durable and easy to operate.

The new FlashMics have already made a very positive contribution to the working life of Miss Phanawan Jitsamut, Reporter For Royal Activity at The National News Bureau (pictured here holding the FlashMic).

"FlashMic is perfect for radio journalism”, comments Miss Jitsamut. "The recording quality is extremely high and the 1GB memory means that I can go on gathering interviews without having to worry about running out of recording time. FlashMic also makes it easy for me to organise my recordings and file my reports. With FlashMic, I can concentrate on the story, not the recorder.”

The FlashMic records in both PCM and mp2 file formats (convertable to mp3 using the supplied FlashMic Manager software application) with a maximum recording time of more than 18 hours.

The National News Bureau and Channel 11 joins a fast growing list of international broadcasters who already enjoy the operational and workflow advantages that the FlashMic delivers over conventional portable recording devices. Users include ABC Radio, CNN, Fox News and NBC in the US, the BBC, BSkyB, NRK, ORF and Radio France in Europe, Aljazeera in the Middle East, and NHK in Japan.

Commenting in Bangkok on behalf of HHB, Managing Director Ian Jones (pictured centre) says, “Along with a mobile phone and a laptop, every radio journalist should carry a FlashMic. Just one button press is all it takes to start recording broadcast-quality interviews, and the high-speed USB interface makes it easy to transfer content anywhere in the world. We’re naturally delighted that Channel 11 has joined the growing list of FlashMic users."
