Toni called the meeting to order
1. The Robotics Team - middle school students spoke in front of parents regarding what they created and how it can help with dyslexia.
a) benefits of a dyslexic class
b) program will help raise self-esteem
c) most teachers do not specialize or are not trained to help students with dyslexia
d) The program/apps will help with memory, phonics, boredom, letter sound relationship, and math
Q: What made the team pick dyslexia?
A: Students narrowed it down to disabilities and they found dyslexia to be most interesting
2. Fourth Grade Committee spoke of School Spirit Week
a)colored shirts
b)grade with most points win/bragging rights
c)activities
d)Mr. Blyth will assist
3. Principal Report:
a) School Spirit Week
b) Instructional Rounds
c) 5th Grade Science Fair
d) PROSE Program
e) Uniform Policy
f) Pre-K Open House on March 16th
4. Presidents Report
a) Auction is in need of volunteers for wrapping baskets, picking up gift, and helping on day of the event
b) Jazz Night - will be held in conference center. Art department will have work on display
c) Add PTA Co-Seats - would like to take a vote in March to start in 2015-2016 school year. Families may be more involved if they have assistance
d) Motion on the floor for $3,000 to provide 3rd Grade with Tennis lessons by Donna Zulch seconded Kathy Lennon (21 in favor - 0 oppose)
e) Habitat for Humanity - motion on the floor for $3,000 donation by Laura Kennedy seconded Terri Lombardi (21 in favor - No opposed)
f) Square 1 Art - submitted 781 pieces. Two week turnaround for orders
g) Burgers and Board Games- Parents would like to have events like this more often
h) School Supplies- not a fundraiser, just makes it easy for school supply shopping. Asked if any parent is interested to volunteer inputting orders

b) Book for the month is "How to Fill Each Others Buckets"
