FEBC Prayer Target
June 2018

Friday, June 1 – Please pray for FEBC International’s team in Yemen, as they prepare daily broadcasts. Pray that the programs revive the hearts of listeners and restore hope in this war ravaged country.
Saturday, June 2- In our efforts to reach all people with the Gospel, we find that some people groups remain unreached due to geographic isolation. Gospel Speaker Boxes allow God’s Word to be heard. One listener tells us: “I was captivated by the stories of Jesus. In all my life, I’ve never heard such things. After one week, I confessed Jesus Christ as Lord.”
Sunday, June 3 – Please pray for FEBC’s International Directors. As appointed and skilled representatives, pray for God to work in and through each director and for strong, godly relationships among staff.

Monday, June 4 –Seventy years ago today, FEBC began broadcasting the Good News of Jesus Christ in Manila, Philippines. Today we celebrate that momentous day and thank God for His faithfulness. Since then, He has blessed this ministry far beyond what we could have ever imagined by changing the lives of countless listeners who now call Jesus “Lord.”

Tuesday, June 5 – Please pray for FEBC’s staff in Russia. Many of them endure hardships and health challenges. Please cover them and their families in prayer. May they find refreshment and renewed energy through God.
Wednesday, June 6 – In 2017, FEBC’s Liangyou Theological Seminary saw 755 new students enroll in this rigorous, 2-year on-air seminary program. Pray that their studies inspire courageous faith and a desire to serve others as pastors and Bible study leaders. Pray that the students will grow in their love of God.

Saturday, June 9 –In Ukraine, rejoice with us at a new station recently launched, with a second one to follow in late July. Local governments are approaching FEBC to establish more stations, especially in the war-torn eastern regions of the country, where people are struggling with death and destruction on a daily basis and quickly losing hope. Pray they will find the one true source of hope through Jesus Christ,
Sunday, June 10 – Pray for continued fundraising for the proposed new station in South Korea, geographically situatedto reach the people of North Korea. Please pray for funding that will enable the radio tower to be built. And pray, too, for the hearts of North Koreans to hear the Good News and not be afraid to embrace it.

Monday, June 11- We hear numerous stories of people on the verge of suicide who had a change of heart after listening to FEBC, such as this listener from Cambodia: “I was bored with life and felt hopeless; I wanted to commit suicide to end my miseries. After I started listening to your station and hearing God’s Word, I found new hope and strength!”
Tuesday, June 12-. FEBC discovered that a large population of people living in a region of China were cut off from our broadcasts. In an effort to reach them, we are partnering with small, local churches to distribute Gospel Speaker Boxes, for the opportunity to hear God’s Word and come to faith. Please pray for transformed lives!
Wednesday, June 13 – A listener in Pakistan writes: “Your programs are prepared in such a way that they are relevant and applicable to us. As I listen, a deep joy wells up in my heart.” Pray for this listener and all Pakistanis who tune into our broadcasts. Pray that they will hear the truth and seek the One who can offer them life everlasting. The only way to reach the people of Pakistan with the Gospel is through shortwave broadcasts.
Thursday, June 14 – Pray for Alexey, FEBC’s program director in Russia. Alexey and the staff in Moscow and St. Petersburg work on Internet programming, which has increased exponentially. Most of these new listeners are young people who like our broadcasts and listen regularly. Pray that many will commit to follow Jesus.
Friday, June 15 – New laws have been introduced in Vietnam that govern religion, resulting in tighter controls and repression. Please pray that listeners to FEBC will continue to grow and stand firm in their faith.

Sunday, June 17 – Please pray for FEBC staff involved in a new radio project in a closed country in Northeast Africa. The ministry team is now working hard to produce programs that will be tested with local groups. The trials and feedback will determine the start date these new broadcasts.

Monday, June 18 – Superstition is prevalent in Central Asia. Pray that FEBC’s broadcasts in this region will fill the spiritual void for those who tune in. A listener contacted our staff and confessed: “I used to make fun of Christians, but through your broadcasts, I have come to faith in Christ.”

Friday, June 22 – Please pray for the safety and wisdom of our engineers and riggers, as they maintain FEBC’s transmitters and shortwave towers in Bocaue and Iba, Philippines. Climbing very tall towers is not for the faint of heart.Pray for God‘s protection.
Saturday, June 23 –FEBC reaches many ethnic people groups, including the Hmong, who have come to faith in large numbers due to Gospel broadcasts. One listener writes: “I’ve been listening to your programs for many years and accepted Jesus as my personal Savior. My relatives became angry and called the police to arrest me. They forced me to go back to worshipping evil spirits and drinking wine. But I told them I can’t drink and walked away from them. Please pray for me not to turn away from God. Thank you, FEBC, for keeping me strong in the Lord.”

Sunday, June 24 – Please keep Seiji, the director of our Japan ministry, in your prayers. Also pray for our team who are short-staffed and looking for young Christians to assist in the ministry. This is often a challenge in Japan, as many here consider Christianity a Western religion.

Monday, June 25 – Praise God for the generous gifts of supporters who made it possible to distribute nearly 15,000 radios last year, to people who would otherwise not be able to afford one of their own. In Mongolia alone, FEBC distributed 5,000 radios, reaching a large number of people, many of whom are nomads with no other way to tune into FEBC.

Tuesday, June 26- Pray that government officials will grant us a radio license in Kazakhstan. For years we have offered our broadcasts through the Internet, which is reaching many, but more would hear the Good News if FEBC could be heard on air.

Thursday, June 28- Persecution against minority groups in Southeast Asia who follow Jesus continues. Many local authorities have been taught by Communists that Christianity is a tool of the CIA, with the aim of overthrowing the government. Pray that God will change their hearts – and their view of Christianity.

Friday, June 29- Please pray for Sionh and his family who serve the Khmu people in Southeast Asia. Sionh not only produces programs, but also visits villages and answers hundreds of listener letters a year. Pray for his health.

Saturday, June 30–We’re so encouraged that our radio stations in Kyrgyzstan are not only growing in number, but also well received by our listeners. We now have 4 stations, with more planned. Please pray for our station manager, Janysh, and all our staff. They are part of the First Generation Church in this predominantly Muslim nation.
