Instructions

Please read all instructions carefully prior to completing the nomination form. Incomplete or inaccurate nominations may result in denial of an award.

·  An individual or group familiar with the service performed by the candidate may submit an application for recognition. Details of the candidate’s service must be submitted on the attached council form. Please be specific about the quality of the nominee’s contribution to Girl Scouting and it’s impact on girls.

·  The deadline for all completed forms with endorsement letters attached is the third Friday in January. Late nominations and/or endorsement will not be accepted. The application is not considered an endorsement. The nominator may not author a letter of endorsement.

·  All endorsement letters should be specific and contain clear and concise details about how the nominees’ performance has been outstanding, the nominee’s unique contributions to Girl Scouting, and any other comments or information that might be helpful. The Adult Recognition Committees decision is based on what is written in the application and the endorsement letters.

·  All nominees must be registered adult members of GSUSA with the exception of those individuals nominated for the GSWRC Community Award.

·  Applications submitted at least 10 working days prior to the application deadline will be previewed by a member of the Adult Recognition Committee to assure that all necessary paperwork and endorsements have accompanied the application.

·  The attached Adult Recognition Overview is to be used as a quick reference tool For the additional information necessary for nomination of a candidate for GSUSA recognition, use the GSUSA Adult Recognition Book available through the GS Service Unit Manager or the Council service center.

·  The GSWRC Adult Recognition Committee does not review nomination for recognition presented by the service team at the service unit level (e.g., Outstanding Volunteer, Outstanding Leader, Leadership Development Pin.)

·  For your records, MAKE COPIES of all nomination forms and endorsement before submitting them.
