Dear Teachers and School Administrators, March 17, 2016

This year the Lima Area Youth Orchestra will be presenting its annual Children’s Concerts on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. There are two concerts; one at 9:30am and the second at 11:00am. Both concerts will last approximately 1 hour for approximately one hour. Thisconcertis an educational outreach concert sponsored by the Lima Noon Optimists Club, Lima Symphony Orchestra, and the Ohio Arts Council and is open to all surrounding elementary/middleschools. Orchestra members will need to be atthe Veterans MemorialConvention & Civic Center in Lima by 8:30am. Please excuse them from school on this morning. They are informed thatthey are to make up any missed work andinform their teachers ahead of time of their absence. This is wonderfulopportunity for these students and also the elementary/middle school age students who will bein attendance.

PS. I’m sure that you are very proud of these talented and dedicated young musicians. They all continue to represent your schools in a mature and professional manner. They voluntarily attend three hour rehearsals on Saturdays and several concerts throughout the school year. We keep them very busy! Our final performance is on Saturday, April 9th at 7:00pm in the beautiful Lima Senior Auditorium.

Dear Parents and LAYO members, February 21, 2015

This year the Lima Area Youth Orchestra will be presenting its annual Children’s Concerts on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. There are two concerts; one at 9:30am and the second at 11:00am. Both concerts will last approximately 1 hour for approximately one hour. This concert is an educational outreach concert sponsored by the Lima Noon Optimists Club, Lima Symphony Orchestra, and the Ohio Arts Council and is open to all surrounding elementary/middle schools. There will be over 1,000 audience members just to see you in the awesome LAYO!

Parents/guardians are responsible for getting you (and your instrument) to the Lima Civic Center and back. They are very welcome to attend the concert and enjoy your wonderful performance! This is a free concert due to our sponsors.

Tuesday, April 5th – rehearsal at the Lima Civic Center from 7:00PM to 8:30PM

Wednesday, April 6th- here is your schedule and information for that day.

8:00AM – Back doors to the Lima Civic Center will be open for us.

8:30AM – Please be in your seat on stage in your black LAYO shirt, black pants, shoes with your music, instrument, and any needed items for the performance.

  • We will warm-up and tune.

9:10AM – I will have donuts and juice for you in the Green Room. 

9:25AM - Once again, please be in your seat on stage in your black LAYO shirt and black pants, shoes with your music, instrument, and any needed items for the performance.

9:30AM – LAYO Children’s Concert Performance. #1

11:00AM – LAYO Children’s Concert Performance #2

12:30AM’ish – Your awesome performances are done. Gather all of your belongings and leave the civic center. 
