St Monica’s Primary School Newsletter

December 2017

Welcome to our last newsletter of 2017! We have had an extremely busy and successful year.We had a wonderful Scottish Assembly yesterday in the school. The school band played some Scottish tunes and then each class performed a variety of songs and we had some fantastic dancing! It was great to see our talented pupils perform so well.

During the season of Advent we will prepare for the celebration of the birth of Jesus. It is also a time we are also reminded of the importance of our family and friends and to care for and love one another.

Christmas Fundraising

On Friday the 8th December we would like all children and staff to come to school wearing Christmas jumpers and make a donation towards the Mary’s Meals charity. Any donations made by the school will be doubled and will help support children to attend school and receive a hot meal at lunch time. We hope you will help us raise money for this very worthy cause.

Christmas Show

Yes it is that time of year already! Our Christmas Show will take place on Friday 15thDecember. There are two performances on this day starting at 9.45am and 1.15pm. Read, Write and Count

We have received a delivery of Read, Write and Count bags for P1-P3 pupils as part of the Scottish Governments drive to raise attainment. We had been advised to send the packs out this week. Goodbye

Sadly, Miss McElhone will be leaving St Monica’s at the end of this term as she was successful in a recent interview for Depute Head Teacher.
