The Magic of Giving

Dear Friend of Rotary:

The Rotary Club of Perrysburg is proud to announce “The Magic of Giving”, our 29th annual charity auction which will be held on February 9, 2013. As in years past, proceeds go to local and international charities. Last year Perrysburg Rotarians gave away over $70,000 locally and around the world to several worthy programs. Half of the net proceeds of our auction are directed to the corpus of the Perrysburg Rotary Service Foundation, while the balance of the 2013 auction proceeds will benefit two worthy local programs:

  • The Cocoon Shelter, providing refuge for women and their children that are traumatized by domestic violence. Located in WoodCounty, funds donated this year will go to bolster the Victim Support Fund helping to cover emergency needs of those families.
  • Owens Community CollegeFoundationwill receive a $20,000 gift, completing a commitment to establish the $100,000 Perrysburg Rotary Service Foundation Scholarship Endowment Fund. The Endowment Fund provides scholarships to Penta Career Center graduates from Lake, Perrysburg and Rossford member districts. The Endowment Fund is a competitive scholarship for students with strong academic achievement, financial need and a demonstrated commitment to community service during their high school careers. Students graduating from the Perrysburg Rotary/Penta Career Center STRIVE Program are also eligible. The STRIVE Program encourages seniors to graduate, while improving their grades, attitudes and attendance.

In addition to the programs listed above, your generosity will also help fund additional scholarships, build community leaders, and support ongoing local and international initiatives directed thru the Perrysburg Rotary Service Foundation.

We are asking you to consider donating a product or service to our auction to help us support these causes. Past donations have included airline miles, art, bicycles, golf packages, fishing packages, sporting event tickets, jewelry, and, of course monetary donations are always appreciated. Item pick-up can be arranged. Contributors will be recognized in our printed program and in a paid ad in the Perrysburg Messenger Journal. The Perrysburg Rotary Service Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization and all contributions are tax deductible; receipts are available on request.

The Rotary Club of Perrysburg was chartered in 1979 and currently has a membership of 120 business men and women. The Rotary Service Foundation has donated over $600,000 for charitable projects in both the Perrysburg community and internationally since its inception in 1985.
