JOB TITLE:Framer
SUMMARY: Assists in the daily operations of the Frame Shop. Reports to the Lead Designer. Works under the general supervision of store management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Projects a high level of AIE (attitude, intelligence, and enthusiasm) to both external and internal customers.
- Assists in maximizing productivity, achieving sales and net profit goals for the department.
- Achieves and maintains a high quality level of customer framing and provides superior customer service.
- Takes and processes orders accurately and in a timely manner. Ensures the quickest and most accurate turn-around time of processing customer orders by promised date. (standard order is no more than 2 weeks.)
- Assists in ordering and managing the inventory and supplies to properly operate the frame shop.
- Assists in merchandising frame shop and ready-made frame department.
- Processes necessary paperwork accurately by deadlines as needed.
- Maintains a clean and professional image of the frame department.
- Follows company policies and procedures as described in BFS, Inc. Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Able to report to work as scheduled. Demonstrates regular and reliable attendance. Attends and participates in training sessions and monthly store meetings as required
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- May check in and processes department freight as needed.
- Assists customers with handling of large of heavy items to their vehicles.
- Promptly and accurately performs any other related duties as assigned by store management including performing related duties of Cashier and/or Sales Associate.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Equipment/Tools Used: Frequent use of framing equipment (i.e. Full Calc computer, WIZARD mat cutter, various hand tools, cutters, flue gun, scissors, staplers, saws, dry mount press, wall mount, pneumatic equipment, shrink wrapper, brad gun, frame chopper, etc.) Occasional use of the telephone, computer, copy machine, printer, paper shredder, fax, calculator, general office equipment and ladder.
Work Hours: Available flexible hours as required. (Including days, nights, weekends, and holidays)
Work Environment: Works under regular store conditions. Frequent exposure to heat, dust, solvents, chemicals, paint, glues, etc. Able to travel to various work sites including neighbor island travel as needed.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Requires attention to detail, concentration and alertness.
- Basic mathematical skills to perform framing, calculate pricing, sizing and perform inventory duties (i.e. addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, decimals, percentages, discounts, etc.)
- Ability to work under pressure, demonstrate effective decision-making, and ability to exercise sound judgment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Occasional push, pull, and/or lift up to 60 lbs. of materials, including lifting and maneuvering up to 100 lbs. of merchandise using a hand truck.
- Ability to stand for durations up to 8 hours at a time.
- Frequent reaching, twisting, turning, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and squeezing.
- Manual dexterity to operate misc. hand tools.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- 1+ years experience in a retail and/or customer service oriented environment.
- 1+ years framing experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- College or art degree preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees, management, customers and vendors using both verbal and written skills. Able to understand and follow instructions to complete assignments.
