JobCat Online Job Referral

Welcome to the CSU, Chico Student Employment Job Referral System JobCat. This system is intended for the use of CSU, Chico students whom have completed all the registration requirements through The CSU, Chico Student Employment Office or the CSU, Chico Career Center.

JobCat allows students 24-hour access to the Student Employment Office job listing. Please note: The Student Employment Office does not offer Job Placement and it is the responsibility of the student user to select appropriate job openings and follow all application instructions.

WARNING! Use of this system by persons other than those who have been authorized is prohibited. Authorized persons who allow their activated accounts to be used by non-authorized individuals will have their access terminated and will be subject to disciplinary action.

Access

In order to access the Student Employment Center JobCat, you must first create an active account through the CSU, Chico Portal located on university homepage (www.csuchico.edu)

1.  Log on to your Portal Account

2.  Click on the “Campus Life” Tab

3.  Click on “Student Employment Registration Access to Jobs” link.

4.  Select the “agreement box”

5.  Click “Access Student Employment or Work Study” button

Personal Profile

Please Note: Before you will be able to view job information you must indicate your work authorization status. To do this, place your cursor over “My Account” and select “My Profile.” Under “Demographic Information” click [Edit] and select your work authorization status and then click “Save.” It is also recommended that all students complete the Personal Information section of your profile in order to conduct a job search. It is also important to make your selections in the “Demographic Information” section and the “Skills” section. The privacy section determines if you receive email notification of special events, recruiting visits from employers, and access to your resume by employers looking to hire students.

Searching for jobs

1.  Place your cursor over the tool bar option “Search Jobs & Internships.”

2.  You may select “search” and view all jobs you may qualify for. You may also search by “Position Type” if you would like to filter your search based on Part Time, Temporary, Work Study, or Student Assistant positions.

3.  If you select a job that you are not eligible for, you will see “You do not qualify for this job” at the top of the page along with the variable that you fail to meet.

4.  The job posting will display position information, contact information, and posting information.

5.  Once you have completed you session, click LOGOUT to exit the system.
