Q. 1. Answer all the questions:

1)  What do you mean by curl of a rector field? Give its physical significance.

2)  The temperature at any point changes according to the following relation : T=4x2+3y2–2z2

3)  Calculate the value of grad T at point (1,2,3).

4)  State Gauss’s divergence theorem.

5)  State Ampere’s circuital law.

6)  Define electrical susceptibility and Atomic polarizability.

Q.2 Giving the definition of divergence, derive its expression in Carterian Coordinate system.

Q.3 Prove that the Gauss’s law of electrostatics is valid for moving charge.

Q.4 Discuss Biot-Sarart’s law and determine the expression for magnetic field due to long straight current carrying wire using it.

5)  A solenoid of diameter 4 cm, length 50 cm consists of 2000 turns. Calculate its self inductance.
