Summary: Provides specialized legal support to ensure all case files, documentation and participants are organized and available for efficient and effective Office of Bar Counsel (OBC) and Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board hearing operations; acts as liaison between the Office of Bar Counsel, Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board and the Nevada Supreme Court. Maintains all State Bar files and record of State Bar proceedings. Schedules screenings and hearings and attends same recording minutes for screenings. Provides high level secretarial support to the Office of Bar Counsel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Clerk of the Court:
· Responsible for filing pleadings with Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board;
· Supreme Court Filings, specifically petitions prepared pursuant to SCR 111, SCR 114, SCR 102, and SCR 117;
· Processes resignations through the State Bar and subsequently with the Supreme Court;
· Communicate with the Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board, Respondent and OBC in coordination with all screenings and hearings;
· File case matters with the National Data Bank.
Screenings and Hearings:
· Schedule screenings and hearings;
· Coordinates with staff assigned to order panel member and ensure participation with the members of the Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board Committee;
· Prepare Screening Agendas and Record Minutes of Screenings;
· Communicate with members of the Public and Attorneys on a daily basis.
· Assist Hearing Paralegals in the preparation for Hearings;
· Assist State Bar Attorneys in the preparation of discipline issued at screenings;
· Prepare pleadings including of Memorandums of Costs;
· Assist State Bar Staff in monitoring SCR 115 Compliance;
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Experience: Five years of legal secretary experience.
Language Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with the courts, bar members and the general public. Ability to read, analyze, and process all incoming mail accordingly. Ability to write correspondence, memorandums, and disciplinary affidavits.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts of basic math.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs and Excel.
