Youth Basketball Rules
Ages 6-7
FHSAA Rules will apply with the following exceptions:
- Four 7 minute quarters will be played with a running clock except in the last 2 minutes of the game. (The clock will only stop due to an injury, time-out or an unforeseen circumstance.)
- Each game will begin with a coin toss and the winning team gets the ball. Possession will rotate for the remainder of the game.
- Each team will have two 1 minute time outs per half
- There will be a 5 minute half time
- Each player must play at least 2 quarters. No player can be substituted in the middle of a quarter unless he/she has played at least 2 quarters, except for injury.
- No backcourt violation.
- No 3 second violation.
- No free throws.
- No full court pressure.
- No 5 second throw-in violation.
- No personal or team fouls will be kept.
- Forfeit time is 5 minutes after start time.
- A team must have 4 players to start the game.
- There will be no overtime in the event of a tie.
- Man to man defense only.
- 8ft rims.
Youth Basketball Rules
Ages 8-10
FHSAA Rules will apply with the following exceptions:
- Four 8 minute quarters will be played with a running clock except in the last 2 minutes of the game.
- The clock will only stop due to injury, time-out or an unforeseen circumstance.
- Each game will begin with a jump ball and then possession will alternate for the remainder of the game.
- Each team will have two 1 minute time-outs per half and 1 per overtime period.
- There will be a 5 minute half time.
- Each player must play at least 2 entire quarters. A player cannot be substituted in the middle of a quarter until he/she has played at least 2 full quarters except for injury or if they foul out.
- No back court violation.
- Personal and team fouls will be kept and foul shots will be granted according to FHSAA rules.
- Technical and intentional fouls will count towards team fouls.
- 5 personal fouls, 2 technical fouls or 1 flagrant foul will result in disqualification.
- Full court pressure is allowed unless your team is up by 10 or more points.
- Forfeit time is 5 minutes after start time
- A team must have 4 players to start the game.
- There will be a 5 minute over-time in the case of a tie.
- 9ft rims.

- Each team will have two 1 minute time-outs per half and 1 per overtime period.
- There will be a 5 minute half time.
- Each player must play at least 2 entire quarters, except for injury or if they foul out.
- Substitutions: only can be made at the 5 minute mark of each quarter, unless injury.
- Full court pressure is allowed unless your team is up by 10 or more points.
- Forfeit time is 5 minutes after start time.
- A team must have 4 players to start the game and may finish with 4.
- Team fouls will be kept and foul shots will be granted according to FHSAA rules.
- All technical fouls are 2 shots plus the ball at division line.
- Intentional fouls are 2 shots plus ball at the spot of the foul.
- 5 personal fouls, 2 technical fouls or 1 flagrant foul will result in disqualification.
- Overtime: 4 minutes with running clock except for in the last minute.
