Junior Coaching Group (with clubgolf Scotland)

Dear Sir / Madam

On behalf of all the coaches and the committee of (NAME) Golf Club I would like to welcome your child to our coaching sessions. The purpose of this letter is to provide more information on what we are trying to do within the sessions and to explain the structure we will follow. I would ask that you read all this information, but in particular the rules and conditions that we expect all the children to follow. The rules governing safety in the practice areas are particularly important.

All of the coaches are here because we enjoy the game of golf and we want to help the children enjoy it as well. You can play golf from a very early age until you are physically able and taking up the game at a young age gives you enjoyment for life. It’s healthy too. It provides strength, stamina and flexibility as well as great skills.

The coaching group is here to help your child enjoy this wonderful game and to provide them with the skills and confidence to allow them to venture out onto the course and play with confidence. We are also here to assist our existing junior members to improve their game and reach their full potential.

All of our coaches have the appropriate qualification, have Enhanced Disclosure Certificates and we also have a Child Protection Officer together with a Child Protection Policy within the club and you are welcome to view this at any time. A copy is posted on the notice board within the clubhouse.

We hope that your child/children enjoy their time with us and will progress on to become a member here at the club. Should you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or any of the other coaches by telephone or email any time during the season.

Yours faithfully

Junior Coordinator / clubgolf Coordinator

COACHING COURSE PROGRAMME

We will be following the clubgolf Stage 1 and 2 approved coaching programmes this season. This is designed to introduce children to all the different aspects of golf and to encourage them into the game. There are skill tests within the programme but these are not tests that need to be passed, they are there solely to allow the coaches to assess how well we are doing in developing the skills of the children. We will be using the clubgolf ‘Passport ‘ scheme and each child will receive a Passport Booklet for the course and will be presented with a certificate on completion of the relevant stage of the programme.

Please note, sessions may be cancelled due to inclement weather and or unforeseen circumstances but please be reassured that you will be contacted of any such cancellation. Please find below the programme that we will be following.
