DECATUR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
February 7, 2011
The Decatur County Commissioners opened their February 7th, 2011 meeting with the following present: John Richards -President, Jerome Buening, Rick Nobbe and Bridgett Weber–Auditor
The January 18th 2011 meeting minutes were approved as amended.
Payroll and Accounts payable claims were approved as presented.
Mark Mohr – Highway Superintendent provided information to the Commissioners on the most recent snow and ice storms. All roads are open with the exception of one due to power line replacement. Mr. Mohr presented the contract for Commissioners to sign on Bridge #2. Mr. Buening moved to sign contract for Bridge #2, Mr. Nobbe seconded and Mr. Richards concurred. Mr. Mohr provided a report how well the Brine is working to keep snow off the roads.
Pepper Cooper – Maverick Insurance provided information on the renewal. Mr. Cooper is asking the Commissioners to explore options for the coverage currently being offered by looking to see what types of coverage’s are available to dependent coverage. Mr. Cooper’s recommendation is stay with SIHO as the Third Party Administrator and renew with Houston Casualty for reinsurance. Mr. Nobbe moved to renew with SIHO, HCC and Maverick for March
1st 2011, Mr. Buening seconded and Mr. Richards concurred.
Teresa Wise – Ambulance Service requested information on grant they received for laptops. Commissioners agreed to make funds available for the reimbursable grant from Homeland Security for $3980.00. Specifications for a new ambulance were also discussed.
Hugh Miller – EMA Co-Director provided a report for the previous week from the snow and ice storms.
Mr. Buening moved to appoint Scott Simmonds to the Hospital Board, Mr. Nobbe seconded and Mr. Richards concurred. Mr. Nobbe moved to appoint Timothy Nobbe to the Hospital Board, Mr. Buening seconded and Mr. Richards concurred.
With nothing further to come before the Commissioners, Mr. Buening moved to recess, Mr. Nobbe seconded and Mr. Richards concurred.
