Title:Deputy Area Manager

Department: Inspire

Reports t0: Area Manager

Main function:To provide the highest possible standards of support to Service Users. To assist the Area Manager to develop current Services in line with appropriate Government, local and regional, strategies, to identify new opportunities for growth and to secure commissioning arrangements for these services. Within that context he/she will be expected to work closely with the Area Manager and on their own initiative.

Main duties and responsibilities are to:

  1. Customer & Client Focus
  1. To work in line with the Area Manager to support staff. To ensure that staff develop & maintain a trusting & professional relationship with Service Users and act in a supportive empathetic manner towards them.
  2. To provide guidance and training for Staff, Service Users and Volunteers, on the benefits of Service User involvement.

3.To ensure that Service Users have access to opportunities for involvement in a range of activities both on a Scheme basis and outside of individual Schemes, eg local amenities.

4. To ensure that all Staff, Service Users and volunteers are familiar with and can put into practice the principles of Personalisation.

5. To engage in discussion with Service Users to explain and gain feedback on Inspire Strategy.

6.To assist the Area Manager in facilitating the liaison with professionals and middle management within Health and Social Care Trusts, and other relevant agencies.

7.In conjunction with the Area Manager be responsible for the promotion and development of good relationships with Service Users, their friends and relatives and between service users and staff in conjunction with the Area Manager.

8.Be responsible for and monitor the safe handling of medication including storage and administration in accordance with the use and control of medicine as outlined in Inspire policy and procedure manual.

9.Ensure safe guarding policies are followed.

10. Taking responsibility for, and active part in, the selection, assessment, review and implementation of individual care and support plans.

  1. General
  1. Members of staff are expected to treat those with whom they come into contact in a courteous and respectful manner in accordance with the Dignity at Work Procedure.
  2. Staff are expected to demonstrate their commitment to Inspire by their regular attendance and the efficient completion of all tasks allocated to them.
  3. All staff must comply with the Smoke Free Policy and associated procedures.
  4. All Staff must take care of their own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what they do (or do not do).
  5. All staff must co-operate with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for their health, safety or welfare.
  6. All staff must follow the training they have received when using any work items their employer has given them.
