At the Regular Meeting of the Town Council, Town of Eaton, held on July 12, 2016 at the Town Office Building, 35 Cedar Street, Morrisville, New York there were present:
Cliff Moses, Supervisor
Jo Wicks, Councilman
Ross Whitford, Councilman
Brenda Herrick, Deputy Clerk
Also Present:Paul and Dorothy Kazunas and Charlie Bostic.
The Meeting opened at 6:00 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Councilman Whitford moved to accept the minutes of the June meeting. Second by CouncilmanWicks.
All ayes. Motion carried.
HIGHWAY REPORT:
Supervisor Moses reported that the Highway is scheduled to pave Sanford Rd., then McQueen Rd., then the parking lot here at the Town Offices.
SUPERVISOR REPORT:
- Supervisor Moses reported on a meeting that He and Deb Clark had with Superintendent of Morrisville/Eaton School district Greg Malloy and Deb in regards to the Town collecting school taxes. There will more updates on this project.
- Moses shared a petition received from Residents of Town and surrounding area on a request for a safety study to be done on the intersection of Rt. 20 and North and South Streets. Moses will turn this report over to the proper authorities.
- After discussion, Councilman Wicks moved a motion accepting and supporting the following:
RESOLUTION 3 2016-Community Development Grant
Whereas, the Partnership for Community Development is applying to the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) for a grant under the environmental Protection Fund for a park project to be located at the Chenango Canal Towpath Trail, a site located within the territorial jurisdiction of the Board,
WHEREAS, as a requirement under the rules o f this program, said not-for-profit corporation must obtain the “approval/endorsement of the governing body of themunicipality in which the project will be located”;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by this august body, that the Board of the Town of Eaton hereby does approve and endorse the application of the Partnership for Community Development for a grant under the Environmental Protection Fund for a park project know as Chenango Towpath Trail Project and located within this community.
- Moses reported on his trip to the Madison County Fair.
- Moses informed Council that the grocery store survey is available for everyone to fill out and send in.
- Moses spoke about EMS-presentation at the College for all area services.
NEW BUSINESS: TRAVEL POLICY REVISION
After review and discussion, Councilman Wicks moved to adopt the revised Travel Policy for the Town. Second by Councilman Whitford. All ayes. Motion carried.
