The Position:

CMHA is seeking a highly motivated individual to work with youth aged 12 – 18 within the Justice Program. The Youth Mental Health Court Worker will coordinate and/or provide services and supports for children and youth age 12 – 17, whom are in conflict with the law and present with mental illness or disorder, where the criminal justice matter is within the jurisdiction of the Youth Justice Court. The Youth Mental Health Court Worker is part of the Mental Health Court Program/Justice Services Team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services filed, preferably Social Work and/or Criminology
  • Current registration with OCSWSSW
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the fields of mental health and addictions with an emphasis in community based services.
  • Experience in conducting bio-psychosocial assessments
  • Experience in working with a multi-disciplinary field is an asset
  • Experience in the criminal justice system and knowledge of community resources
  • Understands a recovery focused approach.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
  • Excellent documentation and computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective in communicating with others
  • Ability to provide effective client services in English and French is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle is required
  • Acceptable Police Vulnerable Sector check
  • First Aid/CPR Certification

Salary: $43,090 – 53,881 annually

This position is covered by a collective agreement. Applications from outside the bargaining unit are welcome, but can only be considered if the position is not filled from within the bargaining unit.
