Appendix C (3): Application for Senior Fellowship (Descriptor 3)
Senior Fellowship is typically awarded to those who can provide evidence of a sustained record of effectiveness in teaching and learning in the context of managing, mentoring and leading established academic teams. The focus will be on teaching, learning, assessment and related areas within their own institution and/or within national and/or international settings.
NB Word Count: The total word count for reflective narratives (excluding the CPD Plan and referees statements) must not exceed 6,000 words. Suggested word counts for each section indicated below. Please insert your total word count at the end of the application.

SECTION TWO TEACHING PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT AND CLAIM GRID Demonstrating a sustained track record
Teaching Philosophy: (suggested 1500 words)This is a reflective statement of your practice (over the past 5 years) reflecting your philosophy. The statement will be informed by all the dimensions of Descriptor 3 of the UKPSF (see Appendix A of the Scheme Handbook)
CLAIM GRID ( suggested 1,000 words)
This is a brief resume of the activities, which provide examples of how you have evidenced the UKPSF holistically across all the dimensions and descriptors.
There must be a minimum of 6 and maximum of 12 contrasting activities, which demonstrate the depth, and breadth of your contribution to teaching and learning. You must reference the relevant dimension of practice A, K, V.
You may decide to choose 2 of these to develop into the case studies required for Section 3

For each of the two examples that you give, follow the guidance provided in ‘Evidencing your practice’ and remember to refer to relevant pedagogic literature. Please give the word count at the end of each activity (suggested 1,500 words per case study).
